Well me as a german would even agree to it. The answer to this is quiet simple.. Germany lost WW2.
It is part of our basic law that german troops are only there for defending germany.. It is unreal they are in afghanistan anyways.
they have 0 fightiung experiance.. what most germans are glad about.
We do our job in training police and soldiers.. we do our job in reconstruction school and such.
Most germans do not want our soldiers to be fighting in afghanistan.. so why should they?
This all is a result of what was done to germany after WW2. we had been almost demilitarised... and when we reinvented the army we had strict rules on it. I personally think those rules should still apply.. and that german soldiers should not be fighting in any foreign country. specially not when its only for a favour to our allies.
but btw... once a year a navy convoy goes for practising to USA.. and frequentlly sinks one of your aircraft carriers... simulated for sure:P
Yeah Germany lost the war started by a minority and spread by fear and power, they were never going to win the war, they had the superior fire power, but not the manpower to overcome so many countries. The UK and Americans did a good job containing them from spreading over france and holland but it was because the Germans picked a fight with the Russians that got them in the shit. Russia had many men, and the leaders to throw them into battle. And as of today, you silly hipocritical untravelled americans can't even judge what u will probably never see. I've been both to Germany and to America and Germany is a million times better, the people are amazingy friendly, helpful and not bitter at all. Americans are so far up their own asses they can't even see what they are doing to their own country, only about what they are doing to others. America is very poor for it's size, apart from the bad parts are hidden away from us. You will never realise how plastic u all are until you get ur sorry asses on a plane and see the world first hand. then you might go back to ur country and realise u drive big trucks and complain about fuel prices for no reason, u have food stores cram packed with shit which 70% are too poor to buy, so it's just there getting stale while countries suffer from starvation. You might realise that you take you huge water supplies for granted, yet ur so [tree]ed of ur faces with soda and beer to understand that when it rains u dont need to turn the sprinklers on, instead why dont u assholes go somewhere where ur nearest water supply is 10 miles away.

Germany's firepower was superior to what other countries were using in the opening of the war. they stopped R&D on aircrafts and tanks mid war because they didn't think they needed anything better. They committed too many men and resources to trying to take a couple of cities in russia instead of sitting tight with them as neutral.
By the end of the War USA was pumping out superior fighter planes and tanks that the German's couldn't match because they were trying to make "tornado guns" and other "experimental" weapons instead of just improving their current tech
Germany collapsed in on itself from over expenditure on infra (Germania) and later on worthless weapons that never worked. They adopted a stance of "no retreat" which cost them tons of lives and equipment (Especially down in Africa) instead of retreat to regroup and shorten supply lines.
Yes everyone had to adopt new weapondry to catch up with germany, but it was the fact they had too many countries to fight that lost them the war. They kicked USA and UK butts in Africa on several occasions until the SAS was formed and UK started raiding their airfields and ports. But in no way can you sit there and critisize germany when you went down the exact road as they did by nuking japan. It was like a bad game of who can kill more innocent people.
Same route as Germany? I wasn't aware we systematically shot, gassed, worked to death, etc... anyone. Japan's POW's were worked to death just like the Jews in Germany.
We fired off a couple nukes to force Japan into submission. They were fanatical zealots sold on their country's superiority to all others (not unlike Germany) who would have never given up unless something drastic happened.
It was a necessity to bring the war to a close.
Who's one of the only countries to win a war when it was facing two fronts? Oh thats right, USA.
I'd like to also point out that all the countries they were fighting was brought on by Germany's attacks against those countries. So it's their fault they were in over their heads

spare me, the war in Germany was almost over, USA was capturing (although struggling) Japanese supplying islands, the nukes were not needed.
Why should the USA risk the lives of its troops with an invasion of mainland Japan when it can easily end the war with just two bombs?

Japanese lost the battle of Okinawa when our Navy showed up, they fought for two months with nothing but suicide tactics, killed 1/3 of their own population, marched them into caves and dynamited them to avoid "shame" of surrender. How long were we gonna sit and wait for them to quit? And as soon as they said on the radio that they would surrender in the future, we ceased all offensive operations against Japan and ended the blockade. By contrast, the British blockade of Germany in 1918 continued AFTER the armistice until Germany signed the treaty of Versailles, which starved a few thousand German civilians.

The nukes were a good demonstration of nuclear damage for all nations (including the USA). If they hadn't been used then, when would they have been used instead? And by/on who? After seeing the damage that a few tiny fission bombs can do, no nation is going to attack a nuclear power; hence why terrorism is the only big threat to nuclear nations and their allies, since the end of the cold war.

Dropping a Nuke on Japan was two bombed out Japanese cities, or 500K American Casualties, and prob more than the two nukes did in Japanese Casualties.

the difference is that it would had been 500k american soldiers and maybe another 500k japanseese soldiers.. this way it have been 200k civilians..

We can see the results in germany where eayst germany (former GDR) still lacks behind a lot economically.
On the other hand many people there are disappointed by democracy... understandable.. because honestlly.. since the cold war is over our western societies did not only develop for improvement. Everything is only about money.. no matter where and what... in the end people only want to sell you stuff.

100,000 Okinawans were killed in the fighting, 1/3 of the civilian population, in a hopeless battle--they couldn't keep our Navy from landing as many troops as we wanted on Okinawa and they couldn't escape the island. They deliberately murdered whole neighborhoods of their own people, men women children marched into caves at gunpoint and buried alive with dynamite.
Okinawa was Japanese soil, had been Japanese since 1895, it was their regular turf. Figure the civilian costs of invading the main islands would have been just 1/10 of that--that's 3% of their population instead of 33% like Okinawa. Even find 1/10 of that, or 1% of the Okinawa death rate, and it's 0.3% of 70 million Japanese, some 210,000...about as many died in the atomic bombings and those ended the war outright.

dropping the bombs on japan was as inhumane as any acts caused by either side during the war BUT as has been said, it was going to happen from someone sooner or later to test out the bomb. imho whats worse was all the poor marines that were forced to stand near the nuke tests, that was horrible
