Re: The Strength of Street Knowledge

Hip hop is uncivilized, and something for the lower classes.

Re: The Strength of Street Knowledge

This isn't a question I can answer empirically. It is a social and cultural question, and it offends my upper middle class values.

You can try and act to be like the higher educated middle class, but your ideas don't show it. All it shows it Palinesque uninformedness and naivity.
Things like this and your "revelations" about social relations makes me assume you have the Asperger syndrome, am I right?

I don't like the current gangsta rap culture, but denouncing Hip Hop in general is just plain ignorance. People like Grandmaster Flash or the French rapper Fabe can't be reduced to terms like "uncivilized".

there is more to that syndrome then just that , i mean even the most logical of men can mkae that assumption he did. it just means that he is somewhat of a xenophobe , which indeed a common aspect upon the asperger syndrome.
but xenophobia can also be instated by an upbringing, with little or no respect towards others not sharing your opinion.
cause actually what you said wild flower is that racist also suffer from the asperger syndrome cause their views on foreigners is narrowminded, and they don't want to talk to them.
so don't go accusing people telling them they have a sickness they don't have

@Justinian, a good answer would have been "People are entitled to their own opinions and decisions. Except for women who must accept that all men are superior in every way, except at cleaning the house." tongue

then I'd have one more soul to add to my collection.

Re: The Strength of Street Knowledge

HipHop has itz upz and downz yo, but itz neva uncivilized, homes.

Respect to my boys and yo mamma on my dick..and all of that.

You know..its all about who does what really... and generalising is a bad move no matter where you do it. Some hiphoppers might be retarded, while others are less so..as it is with any social club. Hate the player, not the game. Or something like that.

Spoonfed its something like.. hate specific rappers that act like idiots. Dont hate the ones that dont act like idiots, cause they just might not be one.

AND to add to that... the days of the mcgyver-do wasnt a good one for us whiteys..you wanna have the entire caucasian population labelled fools for that reason ?

Go suck a lollipop, cause you're no use in here. Just spreadin racist shit.

Re: The Strength of Street Knowledge

I can't wait to buy that song. "Pants on the ground"

I was watching idol when he showed up. he was over the age limit though. Really should never of been able to audition, but the pre audition judges thought he was funny enough to be on the show.

Many good singers that could be on the show never get the chance because the show lets so many bad ones thru and only so many good ones in each city to see the actual judges.

If you say so, but 2/3 of my ideas I don't believe or I partly believe. I argue or entertain ideas I don't actually believe because it's very educational for me. My "revelation" about social relations was one of those ideas. I think there is something to it, but I'm not committed to the extreme version I presented.

I actually am committed to the position that Hip Hop is uncivilized, though. But you can't call it ignorance, since it's a value statement and a matter of my personal taste.

I was never tested for Asperger's syndrome, but I don't think I have it after reviewing its features on Wikipedia.
