Topic: opinions on this?

ok so the situation is this:

your friend asks if u wana go see a movie at the cinema sometime.

next morning they ask if u wana go avatar which starts at 8pm 2 nite on facebook. u say yes.

that evening you fall asleep and u sleep right through by accident.

u later on check ur phone noticing 2 texts.

fist 1 is sent shortly before 7pm- asking if u can meet at 8:45 outside your friends house.

the second 1 is sent shortly before 9m saying its not acceptable that u didnt show & that your friend rushed home & changed his plans to meet u but u went there.

so what are ur thoughts on this?

Re: opinions on this?

U screwed up by not showing up for a movie

Friend screwed up presuming u would be at a place of their choosing before you agreed to be there. Friend should have said what friend would do, ask u to call if u have change of plan

Friend is douche for laying guilt trip on u UNLESS friend is more than friend or wants to be

U must decide what to do
Be more than friends- grovel
Be good friends - treat next time
Destroy friendship-- say u were with friends mom, and ask when friend is going to movie again for next "appointment"

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Re: opinions on this?

Not acceptable?

Sounds like a gay fish.

Find new friend.

This forum is stupid.

Re: opinions on this?

I hate people who renege on promises and cannot be punctual.  There's nothing more annoying thatn someone who's unreliable.

Except perhaps a Frenchman.

Point is, I can understand why your friend is annoyed and I don't blame them for being annoyed.  I don't think they're trying to guilt trip you, I think they're just stating the facts.

I would explain to your friend why you couldn't meet up and apologise.  If they still wanna be your friend then great.  If not then that's too bad.

To those who understand I extend my hand; To the doubtful I demand to take me as I am.

Re: opinions on this?

Bleh... I do mind people breaking promises.

But he fell asleep. Shouldn't his friend first have asked why he wasn't there instead of just shouting out things like "not acceptable"?

Maybe he had a valid reason. Hate people jumping to conclusion more than people forgetting about some things.

This forum is stupid.

you can't expect the guy to live on coffee and other cafeine shots just because plans might alter.
sure he is not in the right, but also not in the wrong.
if they are true friends just talk it over without getting angry , and things prolly will be forgotten , not forgiven

Re: opinions on this?

If he wants to stop being friends because of that it's a pretty louzy friend anyway.
He shouldn't make that big a deal out of it, these things happen.  Sure if it happens all the time it would be another matter, but i don't think that's the case now.

What do I have to work with?

Re: opinions on this?

Re: opinions on this?

tell them you were attacked by squirrels after agreeing to the meeting, then in the attack, the squirrels archenemy chipmunks appeared, with their allies Robins doing dive bomb attacks, and in the chaos resulting you fled into the woods. In your search out you stumbled upon a secret meeting of raccoons who then began attacking you, and you fled through the woods in a mad 7 hour flight of horror being mauled by a mated pair of great horned owls, being mistaken for a deer by a hunter, getting shot in the arm, and you still ran, and then when it was dark you felt safe enough to come out, and then you realized, about 18 miles from home, you dropped your cellphone in the woods. Oh shit. And to get it you had to go back into all that shit. And you decided to simply go home and attend to your wounds. By the time you got home it was almost 10 pm and you were like, ah hell X(

Re: opinions on this?

Sounds like your friend is over reacting. So you fell asleep and didn't meet him, just apologise and there shouldn't be a problem.

It's only a film, you can go any other time you like. Let's face it, it's crap anyway!

Re: opinions on this?

I think your friend either really wants to see Avatar, or considered it to be a date. Seeing Avatar is more or less a letdown, I'm betting on the second possibility.

Re: opinions on this?

"next morning they ask" - I doubt it was a date.
