Re: the new new poetry thread!

Who can one up this guy?

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Re: the new new poetry thread!

oranges are my passion play
I want to squeeze them everyday
a taste of colour, sweet and round
No greater joy may there be found
Other then my lady's oranges!

Re: the new new poetry thread!

My oranges, they're always bouncing
there's no word for how that makes me feel
I jump, up and high, for with these oranges
I can hit the sky. c'mon you have a grab
take a bite and taste these oranges.

Re: the new new poetry thread!

oh the love for clouds
which I knew not I had
and deep inside me shouts
Oh clouds I want you so bad

Been locked up here for so long
and how I desire to break free
come on clouds, jump into me
lift me up, thou singing song

The oceans, plains and hills
give me no satisfaction
nor can the strongest pills
erupt strong love contraction

so clouds, where birds do sing
and angels whipe their feet
so that sadness cleanses our world
and souls, these clouds
will be forever clean.

Cloud cloud high high, free free
me me, you you, perfect clean.
Where our strongest devotions flow
united with the mystic man in a can.

Re: the new new poetry thread!

Cloud is okay

but I don't love him

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

Re: the new new poetry thread!

A Short Note of Thanks to Shakespeare

With pen and paper, with pipe and smile,
You broke the rules, re-wrote your own,
You mocked the monarchy, got paid to boot,
You are a middle-class hero, who invented "[marketable]".

"So, it's defeat for you, is it? Someday I must meet a similar fate..."

Re: the new new poetry thread!

Well, today's been a good day, and I want to finish it off with a silly poem:

A silly poem
about a mime
who writes his verse
for the sake of rhyme:

Inside his box of imagined locks
he wiggles and wriggles
from onlookers' tickles
and their incredibly fickle, demeaning giggles.

The gypsy beneath
his white face freckled
he must bequeath
lest he be heckled.

A ghost among brethren
from hell to high heaven,
along causeways rampant
with ramparts of laymen.

Does he expect payment
this lull of employment,
these months his maiden
with child she is laden?

Inside his mind,
they are unkind,
but sometimes his verse
rhymes with the chimes,
and smiling with glee
he finds the key
that finally unlocks
this imaginary box.

Re: the new new poetry thread!

Nice Xeno,
somehow though I always think of the pokemon episode with this mr.mime
when thinking of mime.
I like the 'box with imagined locks' thought
aswellthe interesting questions (like does he expect payment).
