They were so bad that they started making me laugh.
awww the first 20 mins weren't the best part
the movie could have done without ben stiller and jack black ![]()
downy jr and *gasp* tom cruise were brilliant though.
Edit: actually when i think about it, even ben stiller wasn't as annoying as i usually find him
Les Grossman: First, take a big step back... and literally, hug YOUR OWN FACE! I don't know what kind of pan-pacific bullshit power play you're trying to pull here, but Asia, jack, is my territory. So whatever you're thinking, you'd better think again! Otherwise I'm gonna have to head down there and I will rain down an ungodly hugging firestorm upon you! You're gonna have to call the hugging United Nations and get a hugging binding resolution to keep me from hugging destroying you. I'm talking about scorched earth, motherhugger! I will massacre you! I WILL hug YOU UP!
this should be carved in granite on the steps of the US Capitol
I didn't even recognize Tom Cruise right away...
he was awesome.
zomg i agrees with you ppl
"They were so bad that they started making me laugh."

and yeah even ben stiller wasnt that annoying as usual
mebbe the sad thing is we arent that far away as a society to become this retarded, ha!
"They were so bad that they started making me laugh."
yeah even my mom was laughing at how far they went
so sherlock holmes, nice flick or interesting movie ?
Nemeara agreeing with me... that's... unusual >=\

sherlock holmes could have beaten all of them! ![]()
yes, but which one would beat the others chwis ![]()
I saw Avatar last night.
Largely thought the 3D business was more of a gimick than anything else. Didn't make too much "stand out" from the screen like I was expecting.
The story has been done to death, although this time with flying machines taken straight out of Unreal Tournament. The use of "unobtainium" always makes me cringe; I basically had my head in my hands near the start when this was mentioned.
What did impress me though is the thought that went in to creating the world in the first place. OK, almost all of the aminals wouldn't have looked out of place in Jurassic Park, but there was a vast amount of detail and some of the scenery was really quite stunning.
On a different topic and going back a couple of pages...

i thought it was so obvious/dumb that it was funny
i heard some ppl chuckle along when they first mentioned it ![]()
Yeah so did I.
It was also used in the film The Core. Now there is an absolutely terrible film.
But anyway... unobtanium... I hate that word, especially when used in Sci Fi. ![]()
I giggled when they said "unobtainium"... 'cause if it were unobtainium, how were they obtaining it?
lolz, yeah, zomg we agree again o_O
no! no you don't get it! It's a homage to all the other sci fi flix!! Don't you get it? It's WITTY!!
please! please somebody laugh! ANYBODY LAUGH

yeah, people arent allowed to have differing opinions of a film, if i disagree with a majority, i must be doing it for the sake of disagreeing, right? you're such a tool.
yes actually, the fact you nearly always disagree with the majority points to you just doing it for the sake of disagreeing
people should know by now to ignore any opinion that avo expresses. if you want an accurate review of the movie please see imdb.com. it is currently receiving an 8.7/10 from the viewers (the highest rated movie of all time only gets a 9.1)
the graphical effects are spectacular. the acting was good fairly good, any flaws in the acting can be attributed to the fact that the majority of the acting was done using a system similar to but much more complicated then the old green screen system, in which the actual actors suited up and did all the work while watching themselves appear 4 feet taller interacting with objects that werent really there.
the story was surprisingly good, i went simply because i was interested in the new 3d effects, but was pleasantly surprised when the plot was tolerable as well. sort of a modern dances with wolves if you will
