"God, I hate this."
Deci turned off the television, tired of the endless commercials about bathrobes, spray-tans and expensive cars. Sitting inside all night was boring, but with the mafia being so active and especially agressive, everyone had been advised to stay indoors as much as possible at nights. Deci walked to his computer, but quickly found he had no interest in surfing, not even for porn. After a bit of pacing and drinking a few cans of beer, he made up his mind.
"Screw the mafia, I'm going to the pub!" he yelled triumphantly while grabbing his coat. As he walked out, he heard his neighbours yell something that vaguely resembled clucking bell, we're trying to sleep here. He left his angry neighbours behind him as he got down the stairs and onto the street. It was a warm, beautiful night without a single cloud in the sky. Feeling much better now he was out, Deci decided to take the long way to the pub, straight through the park. But what he didn't notice was a black car following him.
The park was empty, everyone having taken the advice not to leave their house at night. Deci sniggered at all those people sitting in their houses, afraid to get out, afraid to get killed.
"Wan..." But he never finished the sentence. The mafioso who had been following him in the car had crept up behind him and knocked him unconscious.
"Now I'm going to have my fun with you, hehehe."
A couple of hours later, it wasn't long before sunrise, Deci woke up again.
"Mmmhm mhmmh mhmmh"
"That's right, try to yell all you want, buddy. I'd pay more attention to what's going to happen to you."
Looking at himself, Deci noticed they were in a boat and he was tied to a large, heavy piece of rock and, to his surprise, also a lifebuoy. The mafioso noticed his puzzled look and smiled.
"It's not going to save you, but it'll float out there and people will find to find out what it's tied to. We want them to find you, don't we? Get them scared."
He smiled again as Deci tried to struggled himself free, but to no avail. A little later the silence of the park got disturbed shortly. A bit after sunrise, the peace in the park was disturbed when divers brought up the lifeless body of Deci, an honest townsperson.

The mafioso was getting impatient. He'd been waiting half the night, but still no sign of his target. As the church bell struck another hour, he grabbed his cellphone and called one of his fellows.
"Are you sure this is the right spot? I've been waiting forever! Oh wait, I see somebody! Bah, it's that transvestite again. What? He's coming? Okay, ciao."
And indeed, there was his target, slowly walking his way, looking around him like a paranoid freak. This would be an easy kill, the mafioso thought. He waited until the transvestite was around the corner, got out of his car and walked towards his target.
"Hey mate. Got a cigarette? I'm dying for one."
"Aaaargh! Oh god, you startled me, don't ever do that again. Here."
He handed the mafioso a cigarette and got his lighter out.
"Thanks, I have something for you in return." the mafioso smiled and got out his gun. No sooner did his target see the gun or he crawled on the floor, begging for his life.
"No, no, nooooo! Please, don't kill me! Please, I want to live!! I'll do anything! I won't do anything to discomfort the mafia! I'll even join! Just don't kill meeeeeeeee!"
The mafioso looked at the pile of sobbing disgrace at his feet and wondered if he'd really join. After some careful consideration he put his gun away and helped the man up.
"Come on, I'll introduce you to my friends."
