Topic: I killed myself

Yesterday at 8:50 pm CET I sent my fleet to take a well defended one-ticker.
Now guess what.
I totally forgot about that and left all of my planets undefended while having pissed off 2 fams.

So when I log in today I had lost 97 planets that had an OB of 500%-1000% and thus containing a total of 130 k buildings.

With virtually no backup of my own fam (they still have less NW combined then I have) these planets are lost forever.

Before that I was ranked 2nd in individual NW and I think I was giving a good fight to 3026.

Having done such a dumb mistake I lost all of my motivation.
I won't delete cause I hate deleters but I won't really play with any kind of dedication either.

Well, just wanted to have that said.

Re: I killed myself

Well that sucks. Hopefully you wont quit the game though, and will try
again next round...without making such a mistake wink.

Wouldn't beat yourself up over it though -- we've all made huge mistakes
like that before too.

I am sKoE
Do you know what the chain of command is here? It's the chain I go get and beat you with to show you who's in command.

Re: I killed myself

Schucks. Hope you learned a lesson smile Good luck.

Re: I killed myself

Just noticed that 3018 and not 3008 or 3026 were the main-profiteers of my mistake. (Of course both of the others still benefited a lot)

Two days ago I was thinking if I should hit 3018 or 3026.
I concluded: 3026 as there was more gain and less risk to be expected.

Well, had I known that 3018 planned to attack anyways, I would have decided the other way around and could have cleared their attacker from all shares.

I learned: Defense is always better than offense.
The problem with 3026 was that after retaking they swapped all those planets to the players below my hitable range so there was no real benefit from attacking them either.

Re: I killed myself

I think you should always clear enemy attackers regardless of the situation given shared portals, and even tickers. I like to clear up to 5-6 ticks from HS camaar speed given the opportunity and funding. You should never ever let attackers portal up with you in the same systems, unless NAP'd of course.

There is an advantage to the attackers because of their race bonus wink Thus it's usually better off being the attacker than the defender. Especially when fleets are similar!

Re: I killed myself

of course where gonna do that

Hey stupid don't suck your thumb, take your diper off and put your helmet on, destroy till there is no more, put your helmet on lets go to war.

Re: I killed myself

Ail, if it makes you any happier i can tell you that atleast you didnt lose youre entier fleet, cuz i overjumped you to clear you, and it was only to push back some agressive planets you had on my fam, not hurting you. so atleast you got to keep the fleet. smile

Re: I killed myself

sorry dude, it wasnt planned to hit you as hard, but you WERE in a lot of our systems, with portals, and had just jumped a shitload of figs and droids (we had the infil) so there was only one thing we could do : clear you. We actually aimed at destroying that fleet and just taking the shares, but since runs didnt have much effect (we thought you had hidden most of your fleet actually) we HAD to push you back to at least 2-ticks ... and that were, regrettably, a lot of planets. Oh, and tell your retakers that if thier trannies get shot down by groundfire, they should try some bombers for a change, otherwise it dont really help tongue

When speaking your mind, it is of utmost importance to keep using it !

Re: I killed myself

So I actually was lucky for having made that mistake as it hid my fleed?
Well, this only leaves the mistake of not having gone for you directly after the jump.

At least I learned something there.

Re: I killed myself

yup
everyone makes stupid mistakes but u will HOPEFULLY have many many rounds to correct ur mistakes... thats why most of us are as good as we are cuz 100000 rounds ago we made misttakes like that and i still make mistakes lol

Re: I killed myself

*nod*
its not the big strategies or the great names that win a round (they help but thats it), its activity and the ability to minimize mistakes and accidents combined with a knack for dealing with those in the most efficient way when they do happen - coz they are bound to smile

When speaking your mind, it is of utmost importance to keep using it !

Re: I killed myself

come back to icpg X(

Re: I killed myself
