everyone has they're own view of what is perfect, but no one agrees with anyone else's point of view.... here's an idea why don't you find common things you agree on, and get them fixed, then work out the differences from there.

perfection is a pretty common conecpt, the disagreement usually comes from the best way to obtain it.... people genually consider the same things as good and bad with few exceptions...
yeah and the sugar-plum fairy will be visiting you on christmas too...

who here agree's that in a perfect world there wouldnt be murder? rape? cancer? heart disease? stroke? i thought so...

find common ground, respect the rights of others and give them the right to choose for themselves.... not make laws because it is your religious belief, make them because if not someone will get hurt.
not because your protecting your soft money income from textile and pharmaceutical companies, or that the many want to control the few by forcing them to be like them.... that is not right.
the original constitution said it all.
you said people's views of perfection.. most people would say in perfection there wouldnt be tainted money, malpractice suits, taxes, global warming, personal rights, censorship, racism, police brutality, ect...
i never said anything about a perfect world.... no one would like a perfect world, it would get boring, but a better world would have to have politicians that done things because the people as a whole wanted them, and also realise that some things weather people want them or not, violate the right of the few and refrain from it.
as the constitution says.
what i truly said that everyone has an "idea" of what they think would be a perfect world, that exist only in they're head.... but for them to be truly enlightened they would have to realize first that a perfect world cannot exist because like i said.... it would be borrrrrring

such a pathetic line of argument.... if a world is boring, it isnt perfect...
i think the path to the idea of perfection is in competition. free market, sports, etc. are proof of this. maybe the disagreement in politics may be more beneficial than you think. think of it like survival for the fittest if you must. people with better arguements tend to be victorious in there claims, where as, people who are ill-informed learn from them and people who are seldom correct or plain wrong, lose credability and forfiet any trust in their staments, then, the dumbasses fade away. Meanwhile, the people who are more superior in the political conflict get to stick around longer. it is reduntant to think dissagreements are a problem, cuz, if there were no dissagreements at all, then your would be left with a mass population of idiots that just "agree", this is dangerous.
its best to keep the arguments at a high level, it weeds out the non-sense, shares ideas that are meaningfull and the statments that are stupid, are easily forgotten.
cougar, i think you are right, politics are definately full of arguements and people who do not like to listen. but remember, these arguements do have a positive perspective. politics simply would be dull and boring if everyone agreed. so i agree with avo too.
here is a good example of "arguements" serving a positive purpose in the world:

(note, this converstation never actually happened, i made it up to make a point)
now we both said the same exact thing, but we debated the contexts of which the problem was presented. in fact, most political conflicts are simply misunderstanding of the true meaning of the converstation. the arguement that persists afterwards are ussually to "clear things up" or figure out the meaning and work from there. If argueing persists further, then you are supposed to keep argueing until you find common ground.
but if we worked on the common ground first, like getting our constitution back, then the rest would just be semantics.
then states could make they're own laws again, and if you didn't agree with the laws of your state, you could move to a state that did, and if it prospered and the others failed then the failing ones would adopt the more compromising laws of the other.
the problem is that our gov keeps us at odds with each other, so that we don't pay attention to the stuff they do under the table, like ear marks, and lobbyist.
it's called bait a switch, misdirection, divide and conquer, all meaning US the American people get screwed for not paying attention to the things that really matter because they keep us focused on shit that matters not.
we americans are gonna get screwed no matter what. i like to think of this like a good thing. getting screwed over builds character, and help people develop skills to better handle their problematic lives

because politics is basically a series of dialogue and negotiations to attemp accomidate the most pressing public affairs. It can be considered a problem in politics if the ultimate goal is never to be achieved.
