Re: 663 vs 655

hummy are u refering to me about 64? to be honest we dont have any allys big_smile never had since start.

Re: 663 vs 655

No hummy, you miss the point. For anub and the boys, you are fools if you don't break a NAP, and you deserve to be attacked by them and have your NAP broken if you've lost a war against someone else.

But by the way, if you'd broken the NAP, they'd be in here whining about that.

663 has a very understandable honour code: They do what helps them, regardless of what word they've given or deal has been made.  If you become weak, they will attack.  Because they give word only for their convenience, there is no underlying promise or honour involved.  That deal was for then because it suited them.  The instant it doesn't, deal, what deal?  There's no deal!  You were a sucker to have thought there was, is their attitude.  If your playing skills are so poor that you can't do well (because that's their only possible explanation of why you're lower than them, it can't be anything else, surely) well then you don't DESERVE to have them honour your deal.  Are you starting to get the picture now?

How can the game move from this?  In my opinion, the rules will not be changed to prevent it, and guys like this will find a way around the rules anyway.  The only sanction is from the players themselves.  There has to e a critical mass of players who basically say, oh, you guys, I'm aware of your reputation and I'm aware that any agreements you make are worthless, and I'll govern myself accordingly.  The only way guys like 663 will stop their tactics is if they find they are unable to win using them.  Clearly they value winning above all else, so no internal conscience is going to kick in, but if they see others treating them like pariahs, well, who are we kidding?  They'll probably just change their handles and come back again in another form.

Re: 663 vs 655

Anubis, insult me all you want.  The issue is not who I am.
The facts are what your family's tactics are and have been.  Insulting me is an attempt to change the subject, make yourself feel superior.
Noob insults are boring, particualrly when they are directed at someone like myself who has been playing this game for years now.  Long enough to know that the race is not always to the swift.
I started the round in a smaller family, not a lot of experience.  In a situation like that, you know you aren't going to have a great round.  I could, as I have done in the past, VIP and draft.  But I have a rule not to do that unless it's started out in advance.  I stick with where the random puts me and I do my best in the family.

When you guys started in, I was very respectful and made a very generous offer, which was let us keep a core of 4 to 6 systems and we'll provide outside compensation.  Nope, no deal, and the xplo war began.  I've already gone into detail about your subsequent despicable tactics.

The way you conducted yourselves convinced a number of our noobie players this isn't the game for them.  Not because we were a small family and lost some wars, I had told them that was going to happen and explained to them how the game works, our goal is to try and survive etc.  No, what drove them away and caused them to delete was the fact you guys would go to such lengths to break your word and drive a family which had never attacked you down to the planet nuke point, then keep going through surrogates.  What could I say to them, that you guys are an exception, most families are not as low in tactics as you?  Sadly, that is less and less true over time.  Your screw-honour-you-are-noobs-if-you-were-stupid-enough-to-believe-us attitude is in fact growing and growing in the game, and as a long time player, I know that noobs are the key to the game staying active and vibrant, so I know the future of the game is in trouble.

But hey congrats you won the round.  I know that's all that matters to you anyway.  My own view is that the best rounds of IC I have ever had have been when the family I was in had good cameraderie, good activity (obviously, and you guys have that, no question), but also (win or lose) when we found goos opponents of about our size and had a knock down dragout but fair fight, where eventually the losers cried uncle and the winners said okay, took a few more spoils of war, then NAPed their former foes.  I've been at the end of wars win and lose and been friends with the former opponents, because without them, there's no game.  That's a community to be proud of.  That's Respect.

If I had been in the number one family and someone had even suggested war against #28, I'd have said, c'mon boys, that's beneath us.  Let's find something closer to our size.

And I note that there's a sizeable number of your guys who actually honoured the original terms of the agreement. Despite a huge number of shares, never an attack from Jade Empire for example, even when the war was on.  Here's a guy could easily have grabbed 100 planets, didn't take even one.   Respect.

But you, the way you play, if it wasn't for your photo I'd assume you were one of the insecure teens who play.  I know you have skills, I'm sorry you've got focused on the win above all, because to me the win without honour tastes pretty hollow.  You could be a credit to the community, but instead you're the kind of player who causes noobs to leave the game and not come back.  Anyway, hurray for you, you guys are the big big winners of this wound and will always be able to brag about the big war you won against the number 2 family was it?  Or number 3?  Number 4?  Number 5, surely.  I'm sorry, refresh my memory: of the many wars you brag about fighting, how many of them were against a Top Ten Family?

Re: 663 vs 655

Eh, the war is over? 663 hasnt signed yet, tho we have an intact CF (wonder of wonders, since we are now too small for em to farm)

An, Chattax, I see your point. I dont like it, but I see it, and understand it. Honour doesnt exist for them.

Anoobis, ad hominid atks just weaken your position. Just argue the facts, or dont argue at all.  Callin people names and atking character, just weakens your position.

An, Gjiggy, I thot I apologized. It was a planet in contest when the war started. I made the mistake, I  just read recent fam news an did the retakes. I did not know the history.  Based on further investigations (which I really did do)  you are NOT a vulture, and I apoliogze for even mentioning it, and by implicating you.

A declaration of war does not invalidate prior acts. It does not free you from responsiblity for your prior acts. In this case, the planet was in contention when 663 declared, and you were fully justified to continue at it.  I hope this clears it up. It WASNOT vulturing. It was a CONTINUATION of a prior conflict.

What the hell are u rambling on about, we gave you 48 hours notice before cancelling and kept to our word, so whats all this whining about? You were in our cores and weaker than us, we would have been fools to just let you go on and you know it.

Re: 663 vs 655

Re: 663 vs 655

indeed low it is, but what else do you expect from those great players from 663

playing the game as a game used to be played. keep it real

Re: 663 vs 655

SD is fun smile (irrelevant, but when there's no expectation of honor, you don't mind as much)

Wow, Gary, with posts like this you make it too easy.  No further witnesses, Your Honour, the prosecution rests.

If you honestly don't get how bad this post makes you look, I actually am starting to feel sorry for you.

Oh but by the way, there was no 48 hours notice.  But I notice your position keeps changing.  Last week you claimed there was no NAP.  But I guess that was before I posted the messages from you indicating there was one.  My guess is your future position was that you didn't owe a team so far beneath you any notice.
