Like A FISH (for WOW)

Look @ Them fish Swimming
Look @ Their bowl Round
they're hardly even Singing
just staring round & Round

goldfishes one in each bowl
they stay and go out no more
listen listen hear them howl
got an addictive reason therefore

as We R playing staying
watching the window screen
as We R playing staying
against nature it may seem

oh how I wish how I wish
no longer to be this fish

and receive the passionate kiss

Re: the new new poetry thread!

Here is something I wrote just now.

The Beauty and Sorrow of the World
-----------------------------------------
Guns firing and bombs falling
while people cheering marching between
miles and miles of endless open graves
in step with the chorus of machines:
a churning symphony of random cymbal-gongs
announcing the coming of a brand new day
that never seems to dawn.

Instead, continue bombs-a-bursting over dunes
and children of their ancestral homes
hollar-out their cheers
at jet-planes of the blue beyond
while stifling their tears.

And the endless wars go on and on
for countrymen, family, friend, and God.

Re: the new new poetry thread!

I am a teaspoon
makin' honey
"comming soon"
but that's a lie

my darling teacup
I'm kinda stuck
want to be there
want to be here

this endless fork
here I feel fine
I got the shower
I have the wealth

"just one more hour"
can lose no tyme
I have forgotten
Now it's time goodbye

Try and decode this one wink

uh that'd be YOUR interpretation tongue

nah, teaspoon is supposed to be 'tycoon'
honey = money
fork = work
shower = power
tyme = time

it's about a wealthy rich bussinessman whom's a bit to addicted to his work and loses his family due to it.

[10:44:51] <&InSaNeJeDi> Where before that I should see,
[10:45:02] <&InSaNeJeDi> This beautiful succubus that stands before me?
[10:45:19] <&InSaNeJeDi> Her gaudy smile brings a crazy joy
[10:45:33] <&InSaNeJeDi> making me lose control; making me a silly boy.
[10:45:39] <&InSaNeJeDi> Tempting offers drag me close;
[10:45:46] <&InSaNeJeDi> Slowly my ignorance grows.
[10:45:53] <&InSaNeJeDi> She comes back time and again;
[10:45:59] <&InSaNeJeDi> almost loyal, almost a friend.
[10:46:11] <&InSaNeJeDi> Her presence sends me through wild dreams;
[10:46:20] <&InSaNeJeDi> Her thrill unwinds my daily seams.
[10:46:26] <&InSaNeJeDi> she saves me from my every pain,
[10:46:34] <&InSaNeJeDi> but her smile will always be my bane.
[10:46:43] <&InSaNeJeDi> I'll force my way to her every time;
[10:46:51] <&InSaNeJeDi> through thick and thin, dirt and grime.
[10:46:59] <&InSaNeJeDi> And she'll simply snicker through it all;
[10:47:07] <&InSaNeJeDi> and I'll keep her by my side till I fall.
[10:47:14] <&InSaNeJeDi> My succubus, my demon;
[10:47:27] <&InSaNeJeDi> my savior; my addiction.
[10:47:33] <&InSaNeJeDi> She'll just cackle through it all
[10:47:39] <&InSaNeJeDi> And I'll use her till I fall...

Re: the new new poetry thread!

Here's something I did in a Creative Writing class.  I got an A, but this I think demonstrates why I write stories, not poems:

The War of the Worlds
(God bless public domain)

He said the chances of anything from Mars were a million to one.
But still, they come.
Ten cylinders filled with minds much more robust.
Having viewed our gem of a world with envious eyes.
Slowly, and surely, drew their plans against us.

They landed one by one for ten days.
In massive fighting machines they swept us away.
A war of ants against men, bows and arrows against the lightning.
I moved toward the coast and a boat in which to flee .
The heat-ray never more than a moment behind me.

At the coast I was swept away by the crowd.
The last steamer pulling away.
When a fighting machine appeared, and another, and another.
Between them was the lone, grey ironclad, Thunderchild.
She smote them as they came, but her fate was sealed.

The earth belonged to the Martians.
It had been a slaughter, not a war.
I searched for safety where none existed.
When I heard the sound of a fighting machine wailing.
The wailing ended, and I found the machine, its master dead.

It was not gunpowder and cannons that ended those giant brains.
It was bacteria, the littlest things, that ended the Martians.
As over the years had man paid for his immunity.
For men neither live, nor die, in vain.

"They are calling to us, can you hear them?... It's beautiful," Lieutenant Nathan Hale.

Romulus the Great

my lord my lord, invaders
just let them in my boy
but lord they seek no compromise
go now! before you make me rise

what to do with a lord a fool
must we lose our precious land
someone else must take his stool
colaboration with the barbarians hand in hand

the walls are down the walls are down
and we just run amok
my king thou has forsaken us
made our fatherland go down

But can't you see my boy
this is what I intend
it is the only way
for a better future, I dare say

PROPHECY WRITER

They Call themselves the masks
before they take us over there
and erase, adjust our tasks.
They drop us of anywhere.

She's the one that awaits us
all. Nothing is unknown to her
From Big events to the smallest fuzz
Greatest creator of all of us.

We may think we know it all
but hardly are we aware
of what had made our law
We simply shouldn't care.

The beeping hall of desperation
can make one think about this all
till he loses his aspiration
so save your time and seize your bliss
It's the one thing you shouldn't miss!

Re: the new new poetry thread!

A wonderful thing it seems to me
to live in constant soliloquy
endlessly sprouting thought(less?) prose
Na'er bothered if anyone knows
how wondrous! how uninhibiting!
no need to make your monologue riveting..
to rant and rave for days
on absolutely nothing and it's ways
and the useful things you have been taught
who knows? your might provoke some thought
into the mysteries of the universe
or just, perhaps, think up more verse
to further extend your time with me
but please, don't ramble incoherently
logical progression, however skewed
especially when being lewd
for people like continuity
it helps them comprehend, you see?
linking together your subject matter
is key to the art of incessant patter
from base logic to flustered panic
the thoughts involved are frequently manic
if so afflicted, do not resist it
or forever shall your brain be twisted
into the ever-present vicious circle
of trying to explain the colour purple
alongside quantum mechanics and how they're related
but how? you cry, can they be mated?
abstract logic is the key
and creative usage of vocabulary
mastery of all forms of elocution
will greatly aid your execution
but now it's your chance to ponder
and at my methods only wonder
at if i made the leap of faith
from chromatic principles to subatomic space
using fact or purely theory
bypassing accepted knowledge entirely
to arrive by a path so eloquent
that nobody notices the reasoning's bent
but now it's time to quell my spiel
i've gone on long enough, i feel
plus my rhyming's becoming atrocious
(not that anyone would notice)
so before it becomes quite absurd
i'll end right here. on. this. last. word.

<@Nick> it always scares me when KT gets all dominatrixy

MAD GIRL Chronicles

my eyes had been attracted
to stare and gaze at her
my brains had been subtracted
to fall right in front of her
she picked me up and took me home
filled a bathtub full with foam
tied me up made me go down
she got satisfied as I drown

Our butcher had a daughter
viperous like a snake
knew the arts of manslaughter
she could make no mistake
for every look into her eyes
had the judges hypnotize
so on she chopped and chopped
in tiny little pieces

The lady was a farmer
held the highest office
and none could harm her
for she was no novice
she ruled over all animals
and ate for lunch or dinner
from her collection on the walls
of all these lovely people

She was a fine cooks assistant
greedy t learn more
she tried with great vigor
a new recepy for evermore
in a little boy, some salt
and a bit of pepper
for she's a bit ill
let's hope she will get better

Re: the new new poetry thread!

Well i have never actually written a poem, but i enjoy reading them. After reading a few of peoples here i decided to take a shot at it, here it is.

Love

I often wonder about this life of mine,
In this dangerous world it's you that i find.
To love and to hold, find our way though the dark?
Or to continue our paths and slowly drift apart?

Deceit and betrayal is all that's left to see,
Loyalty and love was silently swept out of me.
I stand on two feet, with my head to the sky,
I put my trust into you, and in you it will lie.

To handle this world no longer do i believe,
In these sheeps and theses pawns, that were sent here to deceive.
The good and the light always prevails in time,
The love that is lost i believe i will find.

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Nice. Seems to cover multiple types and facets of love.

CYNICAL LIFE

breaking glass
a face in the mirror
for every day
that is passing by

sarcastic laughter
confused and deranged
lacking the answer why
finding no sense

everything she has
or was looking for
is running away
as it were a lie

clownesque creater
unexistance unchanged
jingles us by
a play of nonsense

IF I were perfect
-------------------

your smile is ALL I need
to get drifted away
a smile is ALL it takes
to live today

and the LOVE for words,
shall only represent You
and the LOVE for sound,
will only be another Joy

And I swear I'll do my best
I'll work hard for some TIME
so that I can spend the rest
of TIME, with you by my side.

Then I would
LOVE you ALL the TIME.
