Topic: I am done

I have played long enough and I have endured all the dishonourable crap in this game as it went on. If people know me, I have always played with honour and I was probably way too nice to any family I fought. Recent events with 3016 in Capricorn was just the edge for me. There is no fun in playing this any more with people like that.
I never thought it would get this far and that I would start complaining about dishonour. Maybe because I try to see the best in people.

Maybe if I sleep on it, I will think differently. But it is good for me to quit and forgetting the things that are bad about this game is not so much a good thing. That's why things like dishonour never got addressed properly. People let it slide, because you can't do anything about it really. That's why I am doing this now, before I change my mind and get disappointed again tongue

I will play out this round, of course, because I never let my family down. After that I will see how things go and see if I resign as f-mod or not.
Either way, thanks for everything. I know there are some fun players out there who are worth it to stay for. But the game just doesn't allow it any more I fear.

There has never been honour in Imperial Conflict. Occasionally some players have enacted towards it - but in a game where the aim is to beat up your opponents, by whatever means necessary, it is inevitable that honour fails; especially as there are limited checks and balances. A dominant family/alliance has no real threat these days to rein in their behaviour.

Perhaps you are right. I have always tried my best and projected that on my family members as much as I could. I do think I am not the only who likes to win a game for real and without using dishonourable methods. The times my I did win, I managed to do so. In the end I probably have played this game more rounds active than most of the players around and maybe there was never honour and it is just me who has changed, but apparently now after all those rounds I feel that it has been enough.

agree with Mace! There has never been Honour here. I just started to play after some years of freedom from IC. But last round before that I played in PW in the top fam and both our allies attacked us without even declare war! Ofc we killed them smile! But breaking a NAP or rape a family that are already half dead is just a part of the game.... and it is better if everyone is doing that than just a few!

I think it did get worse, but it doesn't matter. Apparently opinions differ about that. I do know that people who do care about honour are likely to quit before the ones who don't care much. So technically, things getting worse would not be such a strange progression.

Either way, it is not the sole reason I think it is time to stop playing. But it influenced my decision.
