The Russians have started blasting planes out of the sky, planes belonging to a state seeking independence no less, and noone has anything to say about it?
die ruskies die
lol thats all i got to say
Don't care much about Georgia
Meh, let the lads play with their rockets.
I think Georgia should stop flying drones in places they are not allowed to fly.
or.
Russia should stop flying planes in Georgian air space, and shooting down their drones.
What is the entire story here ??
Mig-29 don t carry missiles on the wing tips.
Drones look like cheap target practice...:P.
Oh, and i think that Video has been massively edited. It's probably some hollywood movie's CGI scene
.
esa: "Mig-29 don t carry missiles on the wing tips."
Su-34s do, and they also have the dual tail fin assembly. Unfortunately, the video is much too grainy for me to even rule out the F-15. Another point about air-launched missiles is they do not always ignite immediately upon release from the pylon. Some missiles have a delayed ignition as a safety measure to provide enough separation between the weapon and the aircraft to prevent wear and tear on the wing, any external fuel tanks, and/or pylons from the rocket back wash.
Georgia's response:

The truth of the matter is nobody yet knows the truth of the matter, but I would not be surprised if this turns out to be a reapeat of the "other" spy plane incident, the one that buggered up the Paris talks.
"The truth of the matter is nobody yet knows the truth of the matter"
that one was priceless ![]()
This is the "other" incident I was thinking of:

I love how Krushchev let Eisenhower dig himself into a nice deep hole.
"He has asked for international support in 'averting' Russia's decision to allegedly shoot down an unmanned Georgian spy plane."
Not to comment on the BBC's English, but "Russia's alleged decision to shoot down etc." would sound better.
Having said that...it was likely in or near Russian space...in which case...meh...it was only a drone. As long as Georgia protects the queen, they should be ok.
Their english is correct: It is still unconfirmed wether or not that video is even real, hence what appears to be an odd placement of the word allegedly.
Ah...but if the Georgian minister doesn't know if the video is real, why would he be condemning Russia? In other words...it doesn't really make sense for him to say "allegedly shoot down". He either knows the video is real, or he doesn't (in which case he shouldn't be condemning Russia).
Maybe the Georgians want Russia to get in international trouble so they can break away cleanly rather than become another Chechnya?
I doubt that currently... unless there's some western influence in there anyway.
gotta admit the footage is UBER-COOL. mig29 FTW!!
