So the 8 year old boy decided he wanted to be a girl when he was 6 years old. Naturally his parents are good, clever, well researched parents that are well aware of the fact that such things are very common among young children and so are not going to make any decisions or take any actions until the boy is much older and is therfore able to make such a decision properly, after serious consideration of any and all possible consequences of such an irreversible act.
Or that is what should have happened.
  What is going to happen is that the boy is going to get pumped full of drugs to delay puberty, then alter the course of puberty, and at no point is anyone going to check if the boy has any issues or check that this is not some kind of reaction to some long-supressed trauma.

  If he's so sure now then he'll still be sure when he's 18, yes?

Wow. Just in case I forgot how much damage stupid parents can do to already troubled children...

I guess it shouldn't be surprising that such messed up kids have retarded parents; someone has to raise them horribly to get to such a maladjusted point.

There's not a lot of room for opinion on identity here. Chromosomes don't lie. A kid can be screwed up enough to think he/she should be a girl/boy, but X and Y chromosomes don't mistake themselves for one another. DNA says what it says and human beings have what parts they do. (there are rare disorders in which mutations take place sad, but not case here) I suppose all kinds of things could result in something like imbalanced hormone levels causing one to feel like the opposite gender; in which case, the problem would of course be the hormone levels or whatever, not the gender in question.

Yeah. It wouldn't have been as hard to get a consensus that no parent has business ****ing up the sex of their child. Today we have more freaks that are comfortable speaking out because so many lesser-freaks don't have the values or common sense to stand up and tell them they're ruining a human life.

Ok I have to ask this question, what the hell happened to parents?  When I was a kid parents realized that their children didn't know enough to make any decision more important than what clothes they want to wear on a particular day.  Now they're deciding that an eight year old is capable of deciding what gender they want to be for their entire life?

Parents of the .world you need to remember a few things

1) Kids are stupid, your kid may seem smart but that's only relative to other children believe me they're still stupid

2) Kids are impressionable, if a child sees/hears about someone wanting or getting a sex change they are probably going to want one too.

3) Kids have about 4 seconds worth of foresight, they are in no position to be making choices with life-long consequences.

It's hearing things like this that make me dead certain Darwin is spinning in his grave so fast he's hovering.
