Any step towards the reformation of Marijuana laws is a step forward.
Pot is a waste of time. Get a job. Get a girl. Make Babies.

Remember, in this specific case, it's talking about medical marijuana, not recreational marijuana.
Theres too many pro arguments for medicinal marijuana to not make it legal. Honestly, it takes only 5 minutes on Google to see how practical medicinal marijuana is rather than opiates such as Oxycodone
I'll back it when you have an exact dose instead of just toking til you feel good, which is exactly how you abuse it

Oh dear. Someone needs to get rid of some cliches.
Can I start the debate on how much more of a waste of time, money, resources as well as the multitude of negative social effects, also the adverse physical effects of alcohol? Or is that best left on the down low.
"In the United States, over half the states have passed laws allowing the medical use of cannabis. Many states now have "compassion clubs" - small non-profit clubs that supply medical-grade cannabis to patients with a written recommendation from their doctor. [..] In a recent case the US Supreme Court ruled that the federal government cannot punish doctors for recommending or perhaps even talking about the benefits of the drug to sick patients."

There is a difference between abusing it and using it for medicinal purposes.
Not without a clinical dosage, instead of recreational enjoyment.
you do realise that there are differing strains and each one has differing "highs", for example stronger strains such as white widow - this strain produces lower yields, is more challenging to grow than others and in turn its effects are suited to a strong pain killer.
in regards to clinical dosage; this would also be challenging for those prescribing it as each person has varying levels of tolerance which is determined by numerous factors. eg. whether you are a regular smoker etc etc
Somehow they manage the trick with ibuprofen
the pharmaceutical companies are likely to wish to oppose the new legislation as some strains will now be seen as direct or indirect competition with some of their drugs. As a result, such companies will take a reduction in profits.
They can measure out dosages in terms of ingested marijuana (cooked into certain foods) or by like, 1 governement regulated marijuana ciggarette. They can regulate size and potency just like they could with ciggarettes (only weed isnt as shitty for you as tobacco)
ibuprofen is obviously an overthecounter drug that any1 can get. Stronger painkillers, such as oxycodone must be perscribed. weed obviously would not be over the counter and it can help not only pain, but anorexia, arthritis, glaucoma, etc.
Medical Marijuana in California is a joke. You can get prescribed Pot for an indefinite period of time for anything. Spraining a finger and getting marijuana for life is not unheard of. Its that quasi BS that ruins it. Get it into a pill form and treat it like any other major painkiller and it's fine.
well its also california and they dont give a ratsass about the drug lol. if they tightened qualifications for the perscription then i dont see why not

there are more harmful things that people can legally obtain. but just because legal things can be more dangerous, isnt a reason in itself to legalize it. The last thing any of us should want would be another widely used, harmful drug. we dont need another alcohol or tobacco. While medicinally it is sometimes a good option, i dont think the mild benefits it can have compared to other drugs justifies the risk of increased abuse of the product outside of medicinal use that legalizing it would have.

yeah, but legalizing it for medicinal purposes makes it significantly easier to obtain for abuse...

its common sense... unfortunately common sense is becoming a very rare thing now a days...
screw all the bull, the AMA has declared that pot is not any more dangerous than a cup of coffee.
and that the revenue from it could fix our deficit in less than 2 years, but the politicians, textile companies, and the pharmaceutical companies would lose billions if it were legal, and the fact that a person on pot cannot be brainwashed to think that everything is good by gov standards.
simply put, our country doesn't want happy people, they get a lot of money from pharm, and textile companies, and could care less if the deficit gets fixed... its what keeps them being able to be in control. that's why Nixon had it outlawed... he wanted a war, and didn't like that pot smokers expressed they're constitutional right to protest his decision.
[moo] everything else... i just want my original constitution back... not what the bureaucrats and lobbyist have made it.
lmao..... cougar good example of people lacking sommon sense...
for one thing, Pot smoke was twice the amount of recognized cancer causing toxins then Cigarette smoke. to say its no more dangerous then coffee is bs...
we are in debt 360% to 680% of our GDP. there is no way in hell it could pay our national debt off in 2 years...
politicians could gain just as much from the new industry that they would loose from other industries...
if anything people are are high are easier to brainwash....
if you need to be high on Pot to be happy, you are seriously [moo'd] up. the lack of pot in ones life does not hinder their ability to be happy...
For another thing, pot does in fact NOT have twice the amount of recognized cancer causing toxins. Please source that because if that came out during one of the 1920 weed reports, its been proven false. Besides, weed is a plant and ciggarettes have tobacco that is mixed with many of the harmful carcinogens. To say that weed is worse than ciggarettes is a blatent misconception.
No way we can pay off our naiton debt that quickly, obviously. But it certainly can help. Besides, since we're talking about medicinal marijuana and not recreational, its odd to assume everyone in the nation is going to be widely addicted (as with alcohol and tobacco).
Politicians lose much from the industry because marijuana and its hemp product can run some industries to the ground. For example, hemp fiber wood is twice as pliable and strong as normal wood, and decomposes in a landfill in 30 or so days. If this product became widely produced, it would run many forresting industries into the red. (and it made the top 100 inventions of all time)
In no way am i saying weed is good for you. But in comparison to drugs already sold under perscriptions, and compared to alcohol and ciggarettes, weed is a diamond in the rough. Its been painted harshly for a long, long time, but studies are finally coming out proving many of the 1920 studies wrong.
once again i say, MARIJUANA IS A PLANT, unlike the stuff with ciggarettes, which is far more than just the plant
and do you really think if it became medicinal that it would be more widely used? Polls show that 49% of people by age 50 have tried it and I know for a fact the number of people who've tried Oxycodone (legal drug) by age 50 is lower.
