Even though you were the first one to arrive at the scene who clearly pwned Einstein and showed how biased he is, you are an outright arsehole.

I believe in evolution and here's an example.
the flu virus it mutates and changes all the time thus it evolves, It just dose it faster then most life forms.
" the modern scientific theory of how the universe began was largely formed by the largest sect of the largest Religion in the world"
Thats just bollocks!
"there is no evidence supporting the opinion that what our senses tell us is correct, so scientific theories are just as baseless as the poop beast theory and the alien theory."
And thats just drivel, if you beleive that then there's no point arguing about anything.
The Oxford English Dictionary gives Two (main) definitions of the word "theory"
1. A hypothesis that has been confirmed or established by observation or experiment.
2. An Idea or set of ideas about something.
When scientists talk about the "theory" of evolution they are using sense 1.
Evolution is "theory" in the same way the heliocentric "theory" of the solar system is. In biological terms, Evolution is fact- we know it happens, the only theory part is the explantion of what drives it, i.e natural selection.
Evolution says nothing about the origins of life, creationists always try to muddy the waters by claiming that it does, but thats an entirely sparate subject.
Thing is; when new discoveries are being made, like finding old bones and stuff, they strengthen the theory of evolution.
While we discover new stuff, we make the evolution theory stronger and the belief weaker.
Remember that the Pope made an apology to Charles Darwin 200 years after his theory was publicized.
If i'm honest I dont see the point of this thread. There is at least some evidence of evolution, compared to just belief. Thats it. I'm not going to knock anyones beliefs, but I think people are living in the dark in disbelieving evolution. Though that doesn't take away from the theory of a omnipotent being, God may well have created everything to allow evolution to take its course, when it comes to it who are we to guess at things like this? Not that it matters much anyway.
i love when people use dictionary definitions in their explanations. holy crap a dictionary! dude your sources are sooooo legit! quit using filler, make some real points
"Thats just bollocks!"
what bullocks about it? Christianity is the largest religion in the world. Catholicism is the largest sect of Christianity. the Catholic church contributed to the formation of the big bang theory, which is the most widely accepted scientific theory of how the world began.

"And thats just drivel, if you beleive that then there's no point arguing about anything."
you dont beleive that? ok, what proof do you think we have that what our senses perceive is correct?
and why does beleiving what i do take away any point about auguring about anything?
There are four lights.
Weird that there aren't more in-between creatures' remains found between things like dinosaurs and modernity. Lots of evolving had to be going on.
And thank God somehow we ended up with these awesome eyes and such intellect! ****, the internet wouldn't be so much fun without them!
read Richard Dawkin's "The Greatest Show on Earth"
there is ample evidence to support evolution to be FACT. the book also gives evidence as to why people deny the evidence because of psychological flaws of the human condition.

NO! THERE ARE FIVE!
I have one problem with evolution. I don't think it's happened. I think Man is still an ape.

i dont think we "came" from apes. i think that apes, monkeys, chimps and humans all share a common ancestry. If we go back in time to see for ourselves, i believe the primate that was the origion source for the modern primate gene pool will look very different from all modern primates.
keep in mind that all mammels origionally came from a "shrew-like" creature that survived the dino's
also, i would like to add that Lord harries of Pentregarth(formerly bishop Richard Harries) said: "Nowadays there is no debate, Evolution is a fact and, from a Christian perspective, one of the greatest of God's works"
Christians recognize Evolution as valid science and in many cases, support evolution from there perspective. It is the American Conservative movment that caused many generations of stigma toward Evolution.
2009: Darwin Year! 200 years ago, Charles Darwin was born, 150 years ago, Mr. Darwin completed his voyage.
BTW, animal domestication is some good hard evidence to support Evolution as fact. Bovine was much smaller 10,000 years ago, now they are huge! the human hand caused this, evolution was there for us to manipulate the bovine to give us more beef and milk.
the laws of physics exist with our without us, we humans are just smart enough to use those laws to our advantage. we domesticated animals and carved them into creature(over time) to suit our human needs. A planet without humans would have evolved its cows differently, however there will still be a 'change over time'

B, Christianity isn't the largest religion in the world.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_religious_groups
Christianity 2,100,000,000
Hey, avo, do you have those statistics for when you break down Christianity and Islam into their subunits? (Catholicism, Protestantism, Shiite, Sunni, etc)

no, i do not.
Or how about statistics for the types of christians and muslims.
I.e. fanatical, every-day worshipping, once a week, once a month, when
your in trouble, or 'just saying Christian because its cool'.
I personally think the numbers are way overblown.
why do you have to be fanatical to be a certain religion? just because you view religious people as fanatical doesnt make them fanatical. and no, i dont have that kind of information.
also, morbo, since when has Christianity been cool?
Evolution has nothing to do with religion, religion keeps interference as an obstacle for those of us that want to be free.
you dont have to be fanatical, that was one example in the list
