Considering that Clinton won Pennsylvania tonight it is a good possibility that Obama will NOT get the nomination
But he's still the probable nominee, given the math. Dems don't do winner-take-all primaries.
no there is no "winner-take-all" primaries, however, the fact that Clinton won does not rule her out as a matter of fact there is no certainty at all of who will be the dem candidate.
As long as these two continue to bloody each other up to the convention, I don't care who becomes the nominee (though, I would prefer Clinton). This allows McCain to concentrate on uniting the GOP under the Republican flag and then win over the moderates and some of the leaning-left after the Dem Convention.
*cries* I don't like Hillary. She's like the scary myterious single lady next door who's sickeningly polite to your parents on lawn-mowing days, but when the football goes over the fence, you and your prepubescent friends feel the cold sting of her true poisonous nature ![]()
When is this whole circus over? It's been going since about 1992. I'm bored of American elections now =/
I can see obama becoming president because mccain isn't very popular amongst many republicans
but really the man sat in a church with a political priest dissing america and stayed seated plus he's (like other politicians) rumours of financial irregularities on him as well as a political programme that isn't much more concrete than "change" -
he really isn't some fairy tale candidate some people make him out to be
At least he doesnt want to obliterate Iran
He wants to bomb Pakistan. That's so much better.
Why not that other republic sucker?
I think he would start bombing Europe to get cheaper oil prices!
"I can see obama becoming president because mccain isn't very popular amongst many republicans"
Yeah, but most republicans would be damned before they vote for someone even further left than McCain.
"At least he doesnt want to obliterate Iran"
"He wants to bomb Pakistan. That's so much better."
Decisions, decisions...
North Carolina Republicans ran an ad showing Rev Wright yelling "God damn America" and saying since Obama likes him and the North Carolina democrats running for state office support Obama, they are too radical
McCain told the NC GOP to stop running the ad because it is disrespectful to Obama
The NC GOP told McCain to worry about being president and they'll take care of state elections.
As bad as Obama and Hillary are they can't cover up the fact that McCain is stupid, self-righteous and dictatorial towards people who owe him nothing. It could come down to who stays home more, Democrats or conservatives
ok Soth you just topped the list of the dumbest ICer ![]()
if any of you actually think hillary has a chance, you're just flat out, dead stupid
Obama has:
more pledge delegates
more votes
more states
he is only 20 super delegates behind --he used to be behind over 150
Clinton has:
only 10 more delegates than she did before pensylvania(pensylvania had more than 180 delegates total)
a big ego
old age
cockiness
evilness![]()
there is no chance in hell that SD will over ride the popular vote and the pledge delegates and the most states won for an old bitch who thinks she should automatically become the president,(to put it nicely)
Obama has the best chance BY FAR to win the primary and general election
McCain isn't liked among his own people, he's seriously considered changing to democrat a couple of times, he's flipped on issues as soon as he decided to run like before he thought raising taxes was holy now he thinks reducing is the best possible shit
he thinks a well guided budget is less important than reducing taxes
he wants to stay in iraq for another 100 years, lost more than 4000 men in 5 years, do the math for the total count,
he thinks we're in a great situation right now..thinks we're not in a recession while clearly it's a market disaster, and it's only getting worse
he needs the guy behind him to tell him who he's fighting in iraq
he himself said he can't work the economy, doens't get it, he's old and him picking new things up is very unlikely, so he won't get it, he doesnt know how it works in a time where the economy is falling dramatically and at a time the debt is what 9 trillion dollars?
and even considering the 9 trillion dollars he still thinks lowering taxes is more important than improoving the budget to reduce that debt
the democrats(obama) could not have asked for a more horrible candidate to run against
and oila OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT ![]()
Hillary has the jews behind her.
"As bad as Obama and Hillary are they can't cover up the fact that McCain is stupid, self-righteous and dictatorial towards people who owe him nothing. It could come down to who stays home more, Democrats or conservatives"
McCain is stupid for trying to portray himself as a respectful person? He isn't trying to cater to the GOP anymore. He's catering to America and if he can show himself as someone who honors what he says, then sure. You can't say the same for Obama, especially about the issue of financing his campaign.
"McCain isn't liked among his own people, he's seriously considered changing to democrat a couple of times, he's flipped on issues as soon as he decided to run like before he thought raising taxes was holy now he thinks reducing is the best possible shit"
Please. How stupid do you think have to be to realize that no die-hard evangelical will want Obama in office? Clinton, maybe. Obama? Not after what his pastor said about America. McCain is the only GOP nominee and, as a result, he just needs a VP that can solidify his holding, earning the GOP votes, while catering to the moderates AND the leaning left. Did you know that if Obama becomes the Dem nominee, McCain will gain a vast majority of hispanic votes?
"he thinks a well guided budget is less important than reducing taxes"
In a time where the economy isn't faring too well, I think it would be best to reduce taxes. Raising them will only lengthen the economic issues.
"he wants to stay in iraq for another 100 years, lost more than 4000 men in 5 years, do the math for the total count, "
And yet, it is STILL far less than the number of Americans that died in WWII, which lasted for the same number of years. Btw, he never meant that we would have 200K troops in Iraq for 100 years. We were in the Philippines for 100+ years, we're still in Japan, we're still in Germany, we're still in Korea. So where is the issue of staying in Iraq for 100 years when we've clearly stayed longer in other areas of the world.
"he thinks we're in a great situation right now..thinks we're not in a recession while clearly it's a market disaster, and it's only getting worse"
No, it's not as bad as people make it sound. Parts of the economy isn't doing well, others are doing surprisingly well. Ford just said it made a 100+ million dollar profit in the first quarter. Intel profits have continued to rise. Microsoft strolls along. Stocks are fluctuating, not plummeting. Yes, most of these are the results of job cuts, but like any business, this is necessary to recall investors and bring the market back up.
"he needs the guy behind him to tell him who he's fighting in iraq"
And Obama needs a pastor to damn America. Hmmm...
"he himself said he can't work the economy, doens't get it, he's old and him picking new things up is very unlikely, so he won't get it, he doesnt know how it works in a time where the economy is falling dramatically and at a time the debt is what 9 trillion dollars?"
So? He admits that he doesn't understand economics. You think Obama does with his "Change" rhetoric? At least McCain is man enough to admit that there are things he does not understand, but is that going to stop him from getting advisers that do understand economics? The President is the "All-Knowing Man" everyone tries to portray. The President is the "Wise Man" who doesn't do anything rashly. You can't say the same for Obama (four years in the Senate and he's a nominee? Sounds rash to me).
"and even considering the 9 trillion dollars he still thinks lowering taxes is more important than improoving the budget to reduce that debt"
So does that mean raising taxes and continuing the economic troubles? You obviously don't realize that you can't fix an economy in trouble and an enormous debt at the same time without prolonging both issues. Pick and choose. All Obama has is "Change." Change what? Change the government into something less corrupt? Change the economy so it's doing better? Change the issue in the Middle East? Change the debt so that we magically don't have any? What change? His slogan "Yes we can" reminds me of Bob the Builder. The difference between Bob and Obama is that Bob actually knows what he's getting involved with.
McCain has NEVER catered to the GOP and has always catered to people who think the GOP is too dogmatic
Millions of Hispanics will vote McAmnesty anyhow because he will legalize illegal immigration
You can't really argue McCain is what America needs, just that he doesn't suck as bad as the opposition. Ever day hoboes argue over what garbage is too spoiled to eat, too, dont mean I'm gonna join the debate. I am a conservative and for 25 years I called myself a Republican because there wasnt any difference. Now i'm indepedent and my candidate is Nonov D Above
What America needs is a realist, a strategist. We need Henry Kissinger to save the Republic! Or Dennis Ross, at least a realist anyhow.

WOW lol supall you clearly CLEARLY PERFECTLY represent the problem of america
k...
first-- since when have we started looking at the person who the candidate spends his sundays with and not the actual candidate, the pastor has his own views, obama has his own.. obama came out of that "problem" glorious, he explained it like he should have, he wasn't like other candidates who quickly would have said..oh i didnt know, and how they're soo sorry, and oh we have nothing to do with them...everyone would know that's BS..but instead obama came out said yes he disagrees but he can not seperate him from the good things of his pastor as well, who obviously can't make it to the internet(right?) that is one of the reasons why i think obama is so much different from that pack, atleast he acts less like a politician and more like a human being
have you in your past agreed with everything your parents say?? if you have, i don't know what heaven you live in, but i havent on a lotta things i havent, but do i try to seperate tthem from me cuz of those things? no, cuz i know there other views, sides and ideas aswell, the ones i do agree with..that's the same case with obama and his pastor
ok so about the budget thing then, in a time of a growing national debt, more than 9 trillion is it now... you want your next president to sit hand on hand, and give less shit about what the wealthiest country in the world spends it's money on, instead you want him to make certain that his buddies down at the retirement center don't have to pay more taxes? WOW
"And yet, it is STILL far less than the number of Americans that died in WWII"
oh so i get it, we'll wait till we've beat that death toll receord set in WWII, ohh how could i not have thought of that, we have enough lives to go ..right?
and oh just like so many other issues he's flipped on this one too, he came out after saying that he meant that, when clearly in that speech(go to youtube for it) he said something along we won't recall and we'll stay there for as long as 100 years..something along those lines
oh so we are doing great economically?? oh ok i guess the millions in job cuts, rising food prices, bad trade deals, bankrupt houses, credit card debts, and country debt aren't part of the economy..ok got it!
and oh make it sound worse, even if that is the case, that makes it worse, since that could lead to more people selling, and thus decreasing stocks even more, ripple effect
and oh back to the pastor thing, you sadden me ![]()
oh ok so his advisors will tel him about economics, our enemy, our situations, affairs, deals, trades, age, and his affairs
why don't we just have the guy behind him run??
and if you ever opened your mind, obama does have some good plans for the economy, youtube it, i'd look it up for you if i knew you'd consider it but with that post you seem like a close minded repub foo ![]()
"Change what? Change the government into something less corrupt? Change the economy so it's doing better? Change the issue in the Middle East?"
OMG
NO WAY we wouldn't want that now WOULD WE???
and you know who mccain reminds me off?? Bush.
and you say that, bush has done good, and our conversation will have ended right there, cuz i will have no use for explaining anything further, i'll just excpect you to be sitting there with a red helmet on your head, with a nanny on the right feeding your pouridge.
It is incredibly sad to watch young people get drawn into the foolish rhetoric of obama. "Change"..... that is all he says "change". well thats good. But what makes him think he is any different than the last 60 years of presidents we have had?! none of them have been able to make drastic changes for the better. If anything that where able to make things twenty times worse (jimmy carter). How naive is he?
@Gladiator
Why are you twisting my words? It's the same thing I get from everyone and yet, they fail to see point.
The issue with the pastor is that he is forever tied to Obama. Now, you, being the Obama, left-wing fan that you are, will fail to see the evangelical right's perspective. What the pastor said will FOREVER be tied to Obama, regardless of how Obama put it aside. I don't agree with the pastor, and I never said that Obama maintained the same feelings as his pastor. That's your (failed) assumption. You jumped the gun and that is EXACTLY what is wrong with Obama's young followers.
"ok so about the budget thing then, in a time of a growing national debt, more than 9 trillion is it now... you want your next president to sit hand on hand, and give less shit about what the wealthiest country in the world spends it's money on, instead you want him to make certain that his buddies down at the retirement center don't have to pay more taxes? WOW"
You failed to see the point. You can't raise taxes without causing a longer slump in the economy. Raising taxes = less money for the population = less investing/spending = less economic benefit. The next President can do what he can about the debt, but it shouldn't involve raising taxes. Perhaps reforming the social programs we have in place so more money can go towards the debt (since a ridiculously large amount is wasted on bureaucracy).
"oh so i get it, we'll wait till we've beat that death toll receord set in WWII, ohh how could i not have thought of that, we have enough lives to go ..right?"
Failed to see the point. People like to point out and cry at all the death. Yes, it's tragic that we've reach 4000 dead. Yet, where was the uproar in WWII when we reach 416000? Where was the uproar when Ulysses S. Grant drastically increased the casualty rate of the Union army during the Civil War? The point I was making was that compared to past conflicts, 4000 in 5 years is substantially far less than most other wars and that the whole "We've lost 4000 soldiers, we must pull out!" argument is mute when we've had far more soldiers sacrificed for other countries such as Korea and South Vietnam.
"and oh just like so many other issues he's flipped on this one too, he came out after saying that he meant that, when clearly in that speech(go to youtube for it) he said something along we won't recall and we'll stay there for as long as 100 years..something along those lines"
How is that a flipped issue? He said we'd most likely stay in Iraq for 100 years. He never said how, so he explained it. I've already pointed out that we've been in other areas of the world for 50+ years. Btw, here's the FULL QUOTE:
"Maybe 100," McCain replied. "As long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed, it's fine with me and I hope it would be fine with you if we maintain a presence in a very volatile part of the world where al Qaeda is training, recruiting, equipping and motivating people every single day."
So...where did he says Iraq War was going to continue for 100 years? Where? You got what the media said. Here's a nice little article for you to read: http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/02/14/mccain.king/index.html
"oh ok so his advisors will tel him about economics, our enemy, our situations, affairs, deals, trades, age, and his affairs
why don't we just have the guy behind him run??"
*Rolls eyes* And Obama will have what? Monkeys with typewriters as advisers? You obviously have no clue on what the Cabinet is supposed to be.
"and if you ever opened your mind, obama does have some good plans for the economy, youtube it, i'd look it up for you if i knew you'd consider it but with that post you seem like a close minded repub foo"
Pot calling the kettle black.
"OMG yikes NO WAY we wouldn't want that now WOULD WE???"
Who wouldn't! I don't want some sort of semi-religious rhetoric. I want well-thought out plans, I want initiative, and I want someone that can GET CONGRESS to do it TOGETHER. You WON'T have that with Obama, not while the GOP stands on the far side of the fence.
"and you know who mccain reminds me off?? Bush.
and you say that, bush has done good, and our conversation will have ended right there, cuz i will have no use for explaining anything further, i'll just excpect you to be sitting there with a red helmet on your head, with a nanny on the right feeding your pouridge."
And you know who Obama reminds me of? The naive classmates of mine who thought the economy was doing poorly in 2002. Obama reminds me of the students that would walk 15 MINUTES to their CARS to drive 5 MINUTES to McDonalds, when they could've walked to the exact same place in 10 MINUTES! I despise naive idealism. Bush has done a lot for this country, good and bad, and who am I to blame you? I see Bush for his character, the kind of man he is, and although I am unable to find even come close to accepting Obama as President, I am not going around touting "Obama should die!" No, unlike the left-wing of this country, I respect even my opponents. That's something the youth of America also fails at: having respect for anything.
Change? The first thing that needs to change is America's youth. Then we'll start thinking about changing America. Btw, I'm 19, going on 20 with a family that is left-wing bonanza, so don't think I'm some old conservative fool of the Reagan years.
a forty-five year old man is expected to say "Buzz off" to a lot of folks and should be judged by the people he will or will not say "Buzz off" to
