Comparing a video game to Major League Baseball/Football or any other mutli-billion dollar organization where the athletes get paid incredible amounts of money is pretty retarded. IC players dont get paid to play. Everyone that plays MLB/NFL gets paid... they invest their entire lives and millions of dollars in return for billions of dollars or some other profit that far exceeds what each individual invests.

Why congratulate someone that has to win through deceptive methods or other dishonorable tactics?

Also, people like you are one of the many reasons IC has lost a tremendous amount of players. You believe that dishonorable tactics are a good part of the game and the whole "win at any cost" mentality. When IC was booming with popularity we had something called the "Code of Honor".... it no longer exists but when it did the community of IC was easily 10x what it is now.

They don't examplify good sportsmanship... They get fined if they complain. They get fined if they complain about a hit. They get fined if they complain about the coaching. They get fined if they complain about the Reffing. They get fined if they complain about the fans.

For crying out loud, they get fined for Twittering.

They committed their lives to that sport because they can make all that money.

Look at the players. Ray Lewis might have killed a guy. Mike Vick killed dogs. The Bengals team are all criminals essentially... lol.

How many baseball players are guilty of cheating with Steroids? How many are John Rocker racists?

1. I never said winning by dishonorable tactis and deception is a good thing. Where in my posts did i say that? You are basicly saying that every defeat in this game came through such methods. Ive been around for close to 9 years (off and on) and ive seen alot of whining. A good amount of whining came from people who got beat fair and square.

2. Ive never been supportive of the philosophy "win at all costs". Do you even know who i am that you are making such accusations about me? Im one of the more merciful players in this game. Ask anyone who knows me. In fact, i get flamed all the time for making stupid NAPs with familys when im leading.

You should really think before you type. My statement still holds true. Acting like a dick cuz you lost FAIRLY isnt acceptable, regardless of how much time you invested into it. Its just a game. there are alot of things to get angry about in this world, and games are not one of them.

Gondor: your siting examples of poor sportsmanship. Thanks for reinforcing my statement. The ones we hear about are the ones that make the news cuz they are acting like poor sports. Thats why they get fined.

what you dont always talk about is the athletes that DONT act in this manner. Society and the media always highlights the BAD stuff. People that are good sports are rarely highlighted or mentioned. Why? Cuz its expected of them.

For each example of a famous athelete being a poor sport, there is a thousand others who are NOT acting like this.

Perhaps to your statement about well behaved athletes.

Look at Marvin Harrison. Outstanding receiver and hall of famer. Got almost no fanfare because he didn't make a fool of himself on the field or say stupid things off the field.

Look at Marvin Harrison. Owns a car wash in a shady area of Philly. Fired shots at some guy but they couldn't prove it. The guy later was going to testify he saw Harrison shooting the gun. Guy ends up gunned down at a stop light.


Just because they don't make alot of noise doesn't mean they are upstanding people either wink

I've never said every defeat was caused by dishonorable tactics, making up lies is the first sign that you have no basis for a decent argument you know. Thats nice that a "good amount" of whining comes from those beaten fairly... there are still plenty that werent. Freedom of speech sucks I realize, but they can post their opinions (till one of the power hungry f-mods wants to be a tool).

You compared IC to major league sports, stfu about thinking before typing since youre obviously retarded. Your statements fail tremendously. If you lose you can say whatever you want. Why the censorship? Are you all about limiting what people want to think? People get mad about losing a game of Halo... which is less than 30 mins long normally..... humans are competitive and want to win... I realize you may not have realized this from God knows how much history you should have taken but its just well known. So playing a game of IC for 2 months and getting screwed or just losing fairly is of course going to make someone pretty ticked. Especially considering many players invest hours and hours a day. Wasting lets say 3 hours a day for 60 days of a round is seven and a half days of life invested into a game... if you dont care about that then you obviously dont have much of a life to begin with. As the saying goes, "Time is Money"

IC has some sorta honor code considering unofficial NAPs, because most see NAP breaking as breaking the rules and ruining the game for everyone.

Other things like definition of farming or killing a fam, attacking empires/fams which are over 35% limit, but just barely, hiding into vmode, attacking empires/fams which are under 35% limit, but have voluntarily removed their protection, attacking while NAP talks are underway, and so on... are all pretty much the grey area.

In your comparisons you fail to make difference when NFL teams or Hitler or whatever break real rules, strict honor code or the gray area of the honor code.

That is what is important here, because I don

I never once said you were a european... reading comprehension isnt your strongest point I'm guessing?
