She was glad her day/night working at a gentleman's club serving drinks was at an end. KT was too shy to be one of the girls on the catwalk, and clumsy enough that dancing around in stiletto heals would put her on long term disability. Of course, being down in the "pits" with the guys was no vacation either. Every round of beer came with a pinch, a touch or a leer... the looks were actually worse than the touches. The lust emanating from their eyes made her shudder. It was times like these she missed Arnor, they were a team, a good one at that. Look what she had to do know for a living, being a police officer in Salem just didn't cut it any more and her kittens had to be fed.

There were always plenty who asked to drive her home every night, but she always declined. She didn't want to get involved with anyone from this part of her life. Besides, she liked the motion of the train. The gentle rocking helped her relax, and after a night of loud music and low lights she could use some relaxation. On the train everyone kept to themselves and if not.. well she could handle herself.

Upon arrival it was just a couple of blocks and she would be home. KT walked down the stairs from the platform holding the hand rail. Her shoes had a sexy heel, just high enough she needed to pay attention to each step. The last thing I need is a twisted ankle, she thought.

As she reached the final steps a strange sensation washed over her; a chill like someone was watching her, with bad intent. She wondered where the phase came from as her eyes swept passed the man at the bottom of the platform. He wore an Italian looking suit, it looked old, but also very sophisticated. "Would the godfather be that theatrical?" She shrugged it off and walked passed the man.

His right hand slipped out of his pocket. KT couldn't see what he was gripping until light from a passing car glinted off the steel blade as he opened the knife.

"Game over" he said in a gravelly voice.

KT was shocked, paralysed by the unreal scene unfolding before her eyes. The man closed the distance between them in lightning speed. He grabbed hold of her hair and wrenched her head back. She screamed reflexively. He brought the knife up to her throat. She tried to break free, but the man was just too strong. He then swiftly slit her throat and let go of KT as she dropped to the floor. Her vision grew dark. The city sounds and lights were dimming until all was black and quiet.
