she is way too passive. most of the reforms done in the last legislative period were made by her former coalition partner SPD.
Now she has a coalition with the free Democrats.. and if it will be same that they do all the reforms i see black for germany.

it was just other times, and other situation.
Germany allready knew democracy and we had been a lil happy when u gave it back to us.
there was no need for an insurgancy since people had been happy that
a) the war is over
b) nazis are gone

in afghanistan or iraq its just different. we need to win the people for democracy.. and therefor.. throwing bombs on them is not the best way.

look, the reforms that had been done lately, cut of welfare, less rights for employed people etc. had all been made by social democrats..
everything that took germany out of the shit we had around 2005 was done by social democrats.

the last time we had FDP in the goverment we had maximum tax of 53%!!!
under social democrats it got cut back to 42%.
it was CDU/FDP goverment in the early 90

This new gov does lack energy and vision (especially CDU), but I seriously doubt the SPD would do any better. One good thing I see is the traditional parties are not the only players anymore. I hope that results in better governance on the long run. The law that forbids to small parties (was it 5%?) to rule should be abandoned altogether btw.

actually the average work time a week last year was 41.1 hours.

Only in Bulgaria, Romania, Great Britain and Czech Repuplic people work longer in Europe...
