Topic: IC is DYING?

Hi everyone.
Bit about me: I am a returning IC played. Played about 6 years ago. I basically sucked at this game and was defeated easily. Eventually I just became a forum spammer called "old stupid" who quickly became despised by the vast bulk of IC forum-goers. Anyways that was six years ago and I am far more mature than I once was and am now having a blast playing this game.

But I came back and it seems there are far less people than what there once was.

1) Is IC really dying? I hope this isn't true becaue now that I am taking it seriously and not being a jackass I think it is pretty unique compared to most of the online turn-based games I have seen.

2) Is there hope for bringing it back?

I'm just curious and now that I told my bro about it even he is going to try it out now.

I think I remember you 2 thirdrock lol. Ya there was a real "death to old stupid" faction that emerged on the forums.

Like I said tho I'm more mature than that now lol.

I dont understand why it is dying tho? Is it a lack of advertising or are there games of similiar genre that are merely superior to IC?

more like lack of intrest in ANY games of this genre combined with the fact that stefan didnt care to put any time into IC when there was players so most ppl quit.

Trying to resurrect now, with some more active mods, + a new game developer who has been given the go ahead by Stefan to help us implement some new chagnes.

Hoping that changes and updates (+ bug fixes etc), will bring back old people + maybe entice new comers.

Just starting the movement now though, so hopefully it goes well smile

IC is done, disregarding the outdated gameplay and setup itself, the actual players and competition in general are severely lacking... even winning rounds tends to be more of a waste of time nowadays than an accomplishment of any sort.

Ok, so here is everyone bitching about it.. if it is as bad as people say it is then, lets be frank, why are you actually here?

Granted that since I have signed up it hasn't actually changed.. but that may be what lures people back into it after spells away from it.. the ease in which it is to get back into..

I, personally, think that there needs to be a greater influx in n00bs (as much as one loves to hate them) which in turn will create chaos as n00bs try to find their feet and make in game errors in judgement, while creating a desire to learn from these mistakes and progress..

I have mentioned already in the Ideas Forum, that I believe (strongly) that there is a need for an application of Ic on IPod touches, Blackberry's and other handheld devices, dragging the game into a more mobile/fast paced and convenience led world

lol you're the one that came first claiming that anyone with complaints is 'bitching', little big man. It's great that you talk about attracting new players but you're exactly the kind of idiot that makes people not even want to bother. Before any apps are going to save IC, people with big mouths like you need to learn to stfu.

.. I think you will find I was simply pointing out that you, by playing this game, are there to be beaten.. unfortunately until some clever clogs invents a way in which tone can be portrayed properly online, your interpretation of what is written is completely your own

IC in the past year has come along alot and is alot better, however this action was about 3 years to late so its recovery is slow
