Genesis read it literally, and god created male and female twice... why is that?
and actually 3 more times in the old testament did god let the weaker of minds fall while the faithful survived,.... God warns the true with knowledge, and the weak with nothing.
Actually Genesis wasn't translated correctly.
Adam in the original Hebrew mean Man as in terms of Mankind, it wasn't referring to the person Adam. It wasn't until after Eve was created was Adam defined as an individual. This was lost in the King James translation of the bible and that misconception has been left in ever since.
So basically it means from Mankind God derived Adam and Eve. Makes a lot more seance now doesn't it?

For me, not to say im the smartest. Logically it is easier to except the theory of evolution that is based on at least current semi substantial science rather than scripture writtin in a primitive time where knowledge of the inner workings of life was nil.
Place yourself in a primative mans mind six or seven thousand years ago. Ask the question where did all this come from? As man you have created tools, fires homes, etc. You have seen things created by other men and by creatures in nature. I believe after thinking long enough about how everything came to be it is possible to come to the conclusion that something created the world. Now that you have the something what is it? Well as a man you create and so maybe it is some great man with amazing powers that did it all. At this point in time with as little knowledge there is not much else that could be fathomable. Well if this man has these powers then he is certainly much much greater of a man than you. Not to mention he made you. You are his child. You can relate to a being that is paternal or maternal in form, similiar to you. Now you have the anthropormorphic GOD. see where im goin with this?
We didn't know jack back then and we still don't. Evolution is no different its just a very plausible theory with the knowledge we have now. Maybe in another thousand years we will have a completely different idea of god and evolution.
God and evolution do indeed not necessarily contradict each other.

It's a guide written for mankind to live by. It's been translated into several languages too... Unfortunately, back then, translations got screwed up a lot of times as well.

But from my perspective, the belief in god is there to fill the gap of the unknown, wheres evolution attempts to explain the unknown. I guess fundementally the quest to explain something is which i beleive, and god itself is fundementally a beleif without explanation, its just him.
Also, this is more of a stab at religion in general....If there is a god, what makes any one religion more valid then another...heck jedi knight is a religion, yet no-one would take that seriously...because we all "know" it comes from a fictional story.......but in 5000 years it may be the new bible, watching a star wars film .....
the bible is a collection of books.... it has many, many authors....

well, for one thing, the Jewish God, the Christian God, and the Muslim God are all the same God. So most major religions are very similar in beliefs... also, the faith, isnt based off the bible, the bible is based off the faith. we dont beleive in God because of the existence of the Bible. We wrote the bible because of the belief in God.
Evolution and God are not mutually exclusive. That is, something that can evolve can also have
a creator (beginning). It just depends on an overlapping of 'the beginning' and whose interpretation
sounds better.
If you look at the beginning of the universe and believe that in the context of evolution, then
there isn't much place in the theory of evolution for 'God'.
I wonder though, why it took almost 200,000 years for man to decide on the right deity to worship...
And what scares me is the fact that there are three main "God" religions. They each branch off into
their own sects, but all preach peace, love and happiness...
...Yet they all try and kill each other over their respective peace-loving God :S.

Honestly, religion aside.
I think mankind is here because of another life form. Yes, another life form. I think we are the product of an alien experiment. Seriously. They are so advanced, they made LIFE. Then they found earth and then decided "hey, lets see what these guys can do if we left them alone" And BAM. We find ourselves here.
And here is the story of why we have never met another life form...
They had civil war on their planet(s) and destroyed each other. They lost information about us during this war and then after the war died down alot of other aliens went to live on other planets and then they completly forgot about us(their experiment) over time. Now, they still have some of the technology and scraped whatever they could and made spaceships. They go space traveling and found us agian but are afraid to reveal themselves because of what horrible things we do to each other.
It actually isnt too far fetched of an idea. It could of actually happened. Way better then your theories of a actualy "GOD" that made 2 people and then those 2 people had sex and made billions of other kids. All imbreds. that is far fetched.
I know my idea sounds stupid, but what other realistic theory is there? the EGYPTIANs have drawings on their walls, and so do CAMBODIANs and MAYANs, these are all in 3 different locations and they have no connection to each other besides these drawings.

99% of christians, Jews, and Muslims are not trying to kill each other over their God. and there are fringe athiests that try to kill others too. Religion is not a cause for violence, simply an excuse some people use for it.

creationists are a small minority of religious people. the vast majority do not beleive that the creationist story is a historical account of what happened. for example, the big bang theory was largely formed with the help of the Catholic church; the modern scientific theory of how the universe began was largely formed by the largest sect of the largest Religion in the world; yet most atheists beleive it too.
