what if you see that a portal is going to be sab/FF, and you have a high construction bonus, can i go ahead and raise the portal and rebuild it while the sab/FF is going to happen what then?

that's what i was thinking dark knight, but even if you can do that the sab would have taken effect before your new portal is built, so either way your still vulnerable to attacks, because whether you raise and build new portal or not, as soon as they get the message saying the sab is complete, they are going to attack

technically, the way it works and always has worked is that if you have sab, then if you are lucky, you should station fleet, raze, then rebuild immediately. If you did it fast enough you should have 16-20 ticks for the portal to build leaving around 8-10 ticks if you have high enough con, maybe less. The op will still say "that the portal is destroyed" but the new portal won't be affected.


Think of it in this respect, Old portal is opped. Old portal destroyed before op can finish. New portal built. New portal is still building while op occurs, buildings can't be destroyed while building. End of op.

the op still place itself in the opponents newstory though


edit: of course, this is assuming the planet is worth keeping, otherwise, raze and forget or raze and rebuild etc tongue
