Re: Black People Click Here

"Marriage."

in most places marriage isnt a right. and in the places where it is a right, gays have the right just as much as straights do.

Re: Black People Click Here

For a start, your country is lame. I'm sorry, but any democratic country that
doesn't give the right to equality to its people is a sham and hypocritical. But
maybe thats just me.

(Edit: I'm aware my country is the same...just pointing that out so you don't
derail the thread again with off-topic nonsense)

Anyway, lets start to get back on topic. I see your point, marriage is not a
right, now please tell me -- AS I HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR A WHILE NOW -- what
exactly 'extra rights' do the gays want?

Lets run with marriage not being a right. Two things the gays can fight for:

A) Marriage to be a right. In which case heterosexuals benefit and there is still no
"more" rights given to one group.

B) Marriage to be allowed for gays. In which case no extra rights have
been given.

So in either case, gays do not want extra rights to special treatment. They want
to be treated the same. Which, in my opinion as a straight guy, is perfectly OKAY.

Case closed, sorry to hijack this thread Fokker.

gays are already treated the same, the law doesnt distinguish between gays and straights, it is impossible for the government to treat them any more equally; so obviously thats not what they're asking for.

". I'm sorry, but any democratic country that

there isnt a right to equality because equality is a stupid broad term that could mean amillion things, and the people in our government werent morons, like you are, so they didnt include it.

"The right to marry who they want*"

Well, i meant "want" when i said "physically attracted to".

Equality = same treatment for all

And, simply put, letting two adults marry and two other adults not marry on the
basis of gender is absurd. It isn't the same treatment, and is actually (dare i
say it) sexist.

then there is equality, because laws dont distinguish between gays and rights, so they are treated equally by the government.

The laws specifically are detailed to contain the necessary wording to
exclude certain groups. For example the marriage of "a man and woman"
excludes a man and man. How is this equal treatment?

How is forcing a man-man relationship to have a "civil union" and allowing
a man-women relationship a "marriage" equal treatment?

Its not. Plain and simple.

sigh, you're incapable of making an intelligent argument. "How is forcing a man-man relationship to have a "civil union"" they arent forcing anyone to do anything, think an idea through in the entirety before you make some dumb argument.

Sorry, they have 'enforced a limitation'.

Stop bitching about my english. You are arguing politics on a Swedish internet gaming site. If
you want proper English, piss off and argue elsewhere. I'm sure you can find someone to
argue with face-to-face that loves English as much as you do.

Re: Black People Click Here

they are enforcing the law equally on both gays and straights.

162

Re: Black People Click Here

But the law sides with straights. It supports their customs and beliefs and
expects gays to follow suit.

not what im saying at all, his claims have no substance; he says gays dont have equal rights, but cant list a single right they dont have that others do have.

im sorry, but when you definition of equality changes every time you use it, its impossible for you to make a point, it looks like you dont know the language well enough to carry out an argument on an English board.

Yeah, i'll give you that. I have switched and changed a few times

Well, if the purpose of political debate is to find solutions to issues, rather than to prove someone is an idiot... perhaps the change in definitions is an effort to find the best definition of a key word in the context of this discussion.

Exactly. Unfortunetly.

I have an idea of how one should act, and how society should act, but i do not have the
ability to express this idea with concrete evidence. I am not a lawyer.

no, i am not absolutely sure that genetics has nothing to do with it. genetics have something to do with everything we are; it is likely that is has some effect on our sexuality. it is clear though,  through the line of reasoning i provided, that the dominant factor is the environment.
