Higher waiting times in the ER though?

Your = possessive. As in, "your grammar sucks."
You're = you are. As in, "you're an idiot for not knowing the difference."

"also, dont most if not all western european nations have a sales tax, so even if the poor bought 1 thing in their life, they paid taxes that ultimately helped pay for their healthcare?"

Yup pretty much.  Except for Natives in Canada, up to third generation mixed I think, everyone pays sales tax.  Don't know if they get access to the healthcare though.  I imagine they would but still we're a weird country.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

we have sales tax.. but not in all countries healthcare is financed by taxes.
in germany we have a special payment which u only pay when u have a real job and an income above X

"in germany we have a special payment which u only pay when u have a real job and an income above X"

a special payment being a tax? or is it voluntary for people over an income?

Re: Question for People under a National Health Care System

no its obligatoric. it sure is kind of a tax but people below a certain income do not pay it.
Also your employer pays half of it.
so for those people without enough income healthcare really is free.. from their point of view. Every german who has a normal job is paying his part though so you can not really talk about free healthcare.

Re: Question for People under a National Health Care System

fyi, its obligatory; obligatoric isnt  word.

i dont know... i mean, yes, theres something the government taxes some people for that they say is going towards it, but theres no way that tax is gonna be exactly how much it cost, sometimes the money from teh tax will fund something else, and sometimes they'll take money from other taxes to help pay it. saying a tax is gonna pay for blank is just propaganda; because no one is going to object to some things being paid for by the government, so it justifies the tax. "what? we want more money? well lets add a tax and say its for blank, so no one can object"

Re: Question for People under a National Health Care System

just checking

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

Re: Question for People under a National Health Care System

Schie,

Did you mean obligatory?
