I personally do not hate America or Americans in general, many of my friends are American.
What I will say is that I dislike certain American policies, I dislike some American news sources and I dislike some American groups.
That said dont go thinking your special, I dislike some British policies, News sources and groups!
As to the others on here, I think its probably easier when typing to say you hate America rather then specifying what specifics you dislike.
I also think it varies based on experience, one of my American friends moved to the UK a year ago and had not heard of Guantanemo (SP?) bay or some of the controversy surrounding it. Because I know other Americans I was able to put it down to this person being un informed, if it was the only American I had met I may have reacted with "Oh my god are Americans a) Stupid or B) Never get told whats going on in the news".
Not justifying the people that jump to these conclusions but I guess it is human nature.

You know next to nothing about the world, geographically or otherwise, beyond your own borders

You show little to no regard for the value of human lives beyond your own

You elected a man who managed to start 2 military conflicts and has yet to resolve either of them.

You have one of the highest rates of violent crime and refuse to accept there may be something fundamentally wrong with the way you, as a people, think and act.

And the list does go on.

Just a few of the things people hate about America.

in my opinion about america(keep in mind, i'm american) is that, america is like that one 'friend' that when your hangin' out with your friends and someone starts talking shit, or harassing your girlfriend, america is the friend that aint afraid of getting kicked out the tavern or going home with a black eye only to explain to his wife a dumb ass story no one beleives!  above all many ppl would refer to this friend as the 'asshole' and this friend, the asshole, knows he is a big jerk but he also relizes that out of his whole posse, all of his friends would call him if they nedd his back-up

we all have that one friend that just doesn't give a shit.  you know, the one who throws the first punch at a funeral, the one who gets kick out of victoria secret for ripping langerie.  some of you may even be the freind that no one wants around their parents but they get the phone call at 3am to come straighten out a 6'4" tough guy.

well, america is this friend to the world.  our policies derive from the very essence that create ignorant jerks and we use them in diplomacy.  no one hates the US, they just hate our diplomatic attitude until they need us.

It is very immature to be mad at a person who lives 5,000 miles away just because he does not know where your country is.  What is beautiful about America is that people do not have to worry about the problems of the world.  They can live their lives happily with their family and only worry about providing for them.  Why should they want to know?  What will it profit them to know about all the senseless bickering that goes on? where is the benefit of understanding all the hate?

In truth knowledge of the world around you is not at all a requirement.  It has to be desired.  I desire it but i don't hold anything against the person who does not.  The person who just wants to live his life peacefully.

- America is too invasive. Leave Iran alone ffs.
- Americans are too 'God bless America' and 'theres no place like America'. It's annoying, and shows you have a big head x(.
- Americans elected George Bush. Nuff said there.
- Americans think they are better then everyone else, and yet still have drug/crime/gun/corruption problems.
- etc.

And, what does it for me, is that Americans are too hypocritical.
- Americans want nukes, but no one else can have them.
- Americans can pay countries to exterminate other countries, but no one else can.
- Americans can provide militaristic support for suppresive dictators, whom have lost the plot and are no longer trying to fix the country, but no one else can.

Also:
- Americans incredibly right-wing. Even their left-wing politicians can be considered right-wing.

Meh.

Soth, ty thats exactly how i feel about America, we live OUR lives and pretty much could careless about what happens in europe, asia, egypt, or whereever ... why should we? for that matter why are you all concerned about us? get a life or something ... shit i dont know 4 countries in europe except russia i think ... than again me knowing europes countries isn't going to make me no money so it's pointless ... as Soth said we care about providing for our family and living our lives, not knowing what other kinda bullshit is going on in the world ... so basically if you have something against america ... grow up, get a drink, get laid, get over it.

It's actually quite true.  Americans won't care unless it affects them.  War on Terror?  Are you kidding me?  We cared less about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict or the bombings of them Irish nationals or some Chechnya rebels.  It didn't affect America.  Once America got hit, and hit hard, we started caring about these terrorists and in order to live our lives as peacefully as possible, we went out to try and bring that security that is needed.  Now, you may see this as "war-mongering" or "invasive" but to us, we could care less.  Europe?  Why should Americans care what the European countries are?  Do Europeans care about the Canadian provinces or American states?

Have you not noticed, Lyvidian, that the growing number of Americans that want to pull out of Iraq is because they don't care?  It's not because of death, or destruction, or the destabilization of the Mideast.  It is because that group of Americans just don't care.  Yeah, it's bigotry.  Yeah, it's ignorance, but it's hypocritical of non-Americans saying that.  You're just as arrogant and ignorant.  Here, let me point it out:
