Zidi, looking at your calculations of food price, you've made the noob mistake everyone seems to make when calculating lq:to ratio. 
Please explain where these 2 factors are calculated in.
1) Effect of population nw on science. changing the ratio changes the population.
2) Effect of population nw on empire nw size costs. More population more expensive.
Also starting banking with pop only is sillyness. You can build lq's and cf's and easily keep up with the pop growing. If you only build lq's and to's you'd end up waiting to build and having excess cash. better to switch after about 10-15 days of the round
depends u can be building other cf bankers in the mean time

Zidi, I wasn't meaning build 50:50 no matter what the situation is. If food is at 0.00001 it'd obviously change things around.
I'd probably tend to go slightly higher in TO's really than that in real world situations. Food price of about 0.2 is standard. As well 50:50 is easy, it actually calculates to get a good income, when you consider things like nw for science and empire size costs.
Also added incalculable advantages of having less nw. These won't make a massive difference but everything helps.
Less attackers can hit you if your nw is smaller.
You can take planets off more of your attackers.
Agent / Wizard to nw ratio is higher, less chance of ops working.
The person making food for you can build less, means more space for mines/refiners.
Not to labour the point but the other thing is that so far the only thing being compared is building the same number of buildings. Should be a comparison for same net spend, with TO's being cheaper.
annatar - at the very least you should log on with enough food to last you until you're sure you're next going to be online, unless you're sure the fam bank or a farmer is gna send to you anyway.
Yeah you keep enough food on hand so that when you next login you'll still have food.... :s
Right now I am in direct competition with a cash factory banker in my family. So far the determining factor is which one of us gets selected for jumps. I am winning by approximately 100,000 gc.

Pop is too expensive and risky.
So is cocaine and prostitutes but that doesn't mean CF banking is better then those

LQ/TO banker gives the most cash/tick if he has a descent food provider pointed to him in the fam.
CF banker can be independent from the rest of the fam.
So both ways of banking have their pro's and contra's.
I allways prefered Pop banking because of the higher NW and more jumps. :-)

Indeed I didn't. :-) I just replied out of the experience i have playing cf banker and pop banker. As pop banker I made a whole lot more cash.

Actually he's getting jumped more than me unfortunately. That's one factor that wasn't included in the calculations:
How much the cash factory banker and population banker get aided from the family bank.

1. a popo banker must be online always(every tick end/beginning) -> Activity? > 12 hours/day

this says 75% of everything, if you do not know the game and the way players play and also if you are not active enough and not just in hours count - its the moments you log on and out that counts then pop banking is the worst ever, however if you do dedicate 1-2 months to this game and don`t go to school or work or... who knows vacations... then yes you might be a good pop banker if not then... not
Why exactly do you need to be online every tick? You're banking you login as often as possible granted, and it takes a little more work, but its not something where you need to be online every tick.
Pop banking may very well be safer than CF now
