If the reports are true and not just LTTE spin, then I'd have to say I find it highly unlikely that those 300k Tamils were all covertly LTTE combatants and the vast majority of them shouldn't be treated this way.

Just as when the Dalai Lama's religious fanatics riot for the re-imposition of theocratic rule by their god-king it certainly shouldn't be held as an indictment against all Tibetans.

Well it is not LTTE spin because sri lankan government agrees they are holding 200k ppl in their camps atleast. and that is the number all media sources will use because they cant be in sri lanka themselves. Tamil websites say 300k ppl so it is somewhere between 200k and 300k

ya so everyone is making up numbers? Sri lanka government says 200k, tamil websites say 300k. unfortunately for us, sri lanka doesnt allow any media into the country so u must go with 200k. They could be making up a number but why would they? Why wouldnt they just lie and say less than 10k people are being held captive?

10k isn't believable, and would be thrown into doubt with just a couple of photos (not
to mention satellite pics).

200k is believable...probably why they picked that number.
