Topic: Stupid Things you did when you were an IC n00b

kmon all, not everyone started out "knowing everything" so tell us some of the stupid things you did when you first started big_smile
 
at first i used to think bombers also helped with air attacking, so at one point i had 90k bombers and 60k figs, thinking bombers were superior because they could also take out lasers

1st race i went, quantum, why? human! not using their strengths at all, not using any of their opps, any research, and not even income, used to attack with them :\

anyone else got any? i cant think of any more at the moment tongue

Did that same stuff plus fed cash alone into research all round, didn't use any RC's.

tried exploing in home system many mant times b/c i didnt understand the universe layout. got really pissed when a little bobbling head kept telling me i couldnt explore there because it was not yet fully developed and waited forever for it to actually develop.....yeah it never happened

mmmm, well that is tough the best momment was forgetting to send my figs with my fleet and losing all my ground and transports haha big_smile

I joined as partax and was told to make lots and lots of wizards. They sent me aid to do make them so i used everything i had to make wizards and then when the wizards finished i had no income for upkeep so they disbanded tongue

I also joined another family and sent out msgs to everyone in the family telling them that i would lead them to the top and glory, etc... They elected me leader and I didn't login again tongue

I thought that when the LIttle Infra guy saId that constrcutIon would take 3 weeks, that he meant rl tIme, not IC tIme. Luckly I logged In  to check on the progress and expected to see "2 weeks, 6 days"   but to my surprIse, everythIng was done. That was the moment I became hooked some tIme back In 2001. smile

First round ever I bought leadership at eor: cost me all my starting stuff = my round was dead. I think I lasted another 3 days before someone else took leadership and killed me off sad

Well this was after my first 5 rounds so i new how to play;


Made a starting strat SOO detailed had a tick by tick what to do for about the first RL week in a completely inactive family. And thought it was gold and for sure success.

At the beginning of this pw round , when they said the round hasnt started yet and no offensive actions could be taken.
I thought i would just try to build 1 expo and see what they say thinking that they would say " the round hasnt started, you are unable to build anything!"
Turns out i could and i did and i wasted 10k before the round even started rofl.Thorougly screwed up the beginning for my fam tongue
Btw if any1 remembers my fam was 1st really early in the BoR for a day or two maybe and it was coz of early expo-ing , everyone was criticising my fam bla bla bla
I was saddened sad!

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

hhahaha everyone was giving our fam shit for expo-ing early...I build+sent a few extra expos...

- Lasers in homeplanet
- Explo in homesystem, yea I did the wait too..sooner or later its gonna be ready for exploration !!!
- Recuited a major tri-alliance, with just about 59 uber drafts, not knowing draft limits (ALOT of folks got pissed)
- Took about 35 newly explored planets from no1 fam's top attacker, while being in an inactive 44ish ranked fam in MW, this not knowing about the 72h retaliation rule..I thought I was so uber til he wacked me.
- Placing all my explos 1-3 ticks from major threat fams HS's at SoR, believing I'd be able to portal up and annihilate them before they noticed...

there is prolly tons more...I was a major n00b in my early days... tongue
