hats off to the mods for actually listening to feedback from the actual people who know what there on about, and having the balls to adapt it before its implemented.
simple way to avoid problems like this in future is to make a thread stating what change you feel is needed and asking for feedback before its all official in announcements and its as good as set in stone
its still a lesser race but acceptable as a compromise

Good change on the feedback - afterall, this is what this thread is for.
And for all those people who ridiculed TYMO, learn your lesson. He may have had the wrong approach - but what he was trying to say was noteworthy. And if you read my posts, you'd see why the initial change was quite outrageous.
This one is good though - has something for everyone in it.

Now you have a race that can attack, but not really big time. Its more like a scout or explorer race that needs support from custom attackers when it gets into a real fight

If you wanna stop farming stop shitting around and scale attack power with fam networth rank. The higher the rank, the more the attack power is decreased. Problem solved, since no one has a reason anymore to attack smaller fams. One skilled attacker can still hit back, and diplomacy would be more important than ever.

its in the crapper lol. seems all people wanna do nowadays is make it harder fo the people who are serious about this game to win, and make it easier for the less active fams to survive, being crappy fams.
Damn the mods for makin me agree with tymo, but he is absolutly right, i a bid to save this game your gonna push the super active players out cause they are gonna get bored, and were gonna have a round were everyone just infrawhores and sneak attacks. no glorious wars like before. this game has moved the way of imperial peace. what happened to ic. Before they added speed we had better wars than i've seen in along time. all u get now is a couple players from a fam jumping and fight from miles away, when there was no speed there were less nap, and p-naps were unheard of. your overcomplicating a great game. you need the speed to make up for the short rounds. that why it was instituded in the first place. this game evolves on whinners.
thats why its dying. think about it in beta there was no burocracy, only food and oct decayed. no speed bonus no caamar and no revalons, and the premade races we'rt as good. the added beuracracy cuase fames svaed way to much and won wars, because they were more active, so they change what the coupld save and started sdding opts like destroy cahs and iron(pretty sure they were not in beta). they added speed and made the galaxys smaller and rounds shorter cause a winner was always decided with a month in the round left, so everyone got bored. and your extra decay comes in with the better fams having more savings for war and eor jumps.
problem is pretty well all these changes were to make it easier for smaller fams to survive. problem is they just get use again't them. your problem is not the rules of the game, its the lack of rules.
people have said it and been laught at. what happened to the honour code. almost impossible to uphold so they dropped it. this is a war game think about it. the only way to stop farming is to bring it back, everyone just needs to play fair, wait its a war game honour is up to the fam who does the attackin. truth is the top fams are top cause they are very active, if u don't wanna play for 12 hrs a day fine but don't expect the same return from the game as the guys who spend 60-80% of their days on everyday, call them geeks if u want but they are what makes this game.
How about this idea to make it better for small fams, we'll limit how long a day u can be on say 3 hrs so it limits the top familys growth would that help out the small fams and if a big fam attacks a small fam and the don't have the guts to retake and make life hard we'll limit how often the top fams can attack and we can set a limit on how much a fam can save so the little fams will be able to keep up.
we can make it so when a family get 80% higher in planets count than another lowere fam they are not allowed to explore anymore till they catch up, or attack really. Give soldier more power and don't let attackers build em just usless droid. are we makin this game better now.
Sorry if this make little sense. but i'm sick of this game being change to suit people u want to casually play, alls fair in love and war just because someone deems its unfair, lifes unfair.
I'll use an example from my job. If i work a shift with lets say bob, and its sposes to be a 6 hr shift. if i waro for 6 hrs and bob goes home after 3 is he intittled to as much pay at the end of it. think not. u reap what u sow.
If a fam dosn't want to put a effort in top be the top fam why should they be allowed to be a top fam. Stop tryin to make money off this game then let everyone draft for free se how stephan likes that. its not gonna happen. so let the whinney people rule its fine. the best players will own em no matter what u cnage in ic. cause its all the same for all familys. just make sure its progress not a desperate attempt at makin the whinners stop. Cause it don't matter they will whinne whenever they don't get their way
The question is who makes up the majority of players in this game? The guys who play it 12 hours a day or the guys who play it for a half hour a day. I agree that top families are at the top becaus they are very active. There should be a display in the ranking for hours online for the families.

There must be a winner and tonne of losers. Because there is only one top spot. Or we can make several top spot? to accommodate those losers?

If the goal was to tone down the power of a cammar i still think its a fail. Im fine and dandy with the change though cause I dont use hard ops anyways. (Leave that for bankers/Resoucers)
Generally when I play cammar, 3/4 the problem for me is attacking "blind" You cant always get a PI, specially in less active fams.
So this is great for me, 50% more speed, more research, and now i can PI every single attack and will never hit a laser trap again. So fams will save tons on cost of rebuilding fleet.
Does that really sound toned down?
Well poki you do have a point about there only being winners and losers but consider this. The amount of new players joining up is declining. How could accomodating smaller families make that problem worse?
I think camaars at a higher speed does give an advantage. Usually in wars each side tries to increase travel times to prevent retakes. With a race that has increased speed that strategy changes.

hit the nail on the head there....... but thats life, im done with my crying, i helped at least get some compromise for the camaar race at least.
i think PI just made it a hell of alot stronger.

We need to reduce the strength of races to prevent noobs getting owned,
which in turn helps keep players playing.
If the smaller, less active, less organized families were to quit imperial conflict who would the larger more active families pick on and rape?
From what I have experienced I would say there is a food chain that exists here that is defined by activity.

So for those who keep saying - "Camaars are to weak with low research - nobody plays them" - you are wrong. Lets face it - in most families it doesn't cost a camaar anything to research, his revelon banker bitch just pays alittle extra for his research. It simply costs a banker more to get the lazy camaar to do anything.
Secondly - reducing speed by 50% and increasing research 20% - are you ficken kidding me!? Looking at the numbers I posted above - it appears that when it comes to being a hardcore attacker, that a good number of players pick Camaar over any other race. So you are taking a dominate race and instead of making it less powerful you are just shifting its points around and in the long run making it even more powerful for when its attacking anything? Say a Camaar from today is attacking a planet 5 systems away, it would take 2 ticks. This new camaar would also take also take 2 ticks - but now he has a better military and construction bonus.... doesn't make much sense.

speed and attacks on current camaar is fine.. it should kept this way, so the purely attack.. maybe could just take away all ops except no fear, and makes their research -60%.. so they will take longer time to research construction/attacks but still have to build wiz/agents just to prevent ppl from opping them while they could no make use of wiz/agents.. reduced their magic would makes them even harder to case NF.. this will make this race purely attacking..
