Topic: 300,000 humans stashed like cattle

I just thought i would bring up the sri lanka massac... err i mean conflict. The link above says that only 200,000 people are in the concentration camps but the date on the article is rather old. Tamil websites say that 300,000 people are in these camps and the srilankan government has not denied that. Ofcourse you would not like me to post tamil websites. But the fact is... I have no choice. No outside media is aloud in. And the one time a british journalist happened to get near the concentration camps with his camera, they arrested him for a week and sent him back home. But he did get footage of how the soldiers treated the people inside these camps. Ofcourse they are not gassing people  like hitler did... but they are doing something much worse. They are humiliating an innocent populace for no reason other than their ethnicity.

Above is an article explaining how the UN had a vote on just INVESTIGATING sri lankan war crimes. This was backed by the US, UK, France and most other european countries. This was blocked by countries like India (which supplied the majority of the weapons to sri lanka), China, Pakistan, Russia. So because of these countries, There will not even be an INVESTIGATION on war crimes committed there.

Ofcourse the UN sent out few people to the warzone right after the war and they were blocked. Tamil websites report that 10,000 people who were too injured to go to the concentration camps were simply buried alive with bulldozers. Why? Because the SLA does not want to take them into the hospital and document the injured in the war. Instead it is much easier to bury them. Much like burying diseased cattle.

No outside media has ever been aloud into sri  lanka. So this means that the only "legitimate" media in sri lanka is the one owned by the government. And people call this wretched government a democracy?

I know that you will say the tamil tigers did such and such and blah blah blah. But you fail to realize that things happen in a war. If your enemy is killing your civilians, by god you have every right to put a bomb in the marketplace and schoolbuses. But once the war is over and there is no LTTE, how can these things be justified. Burying 10,000 humans alive and keeping another 200-300,000 in concentration camps should simply not be aloud.

There's nothing wrong with concentration camps. The British Empire did it, and the US did it. A concentration camp isn't necessarily what we think of when we heard about Nazi Germany.

Well the uighers are fighting to maintain their separate identity and language. If the Han chinese flood their towns, they lose jobs, but most importantly, they will lose their identity over time.

Nah... if the Uighers asked for a separate state due to the obvious differences they have with the chinese, then it is okay. If the Chinese government is forcing them to stay within China then it is okay. But I dont feel like researching on that topic. This thread was started about sri lanka.

right...

did u miss the part of my post where i told u that there is no outside media aloud in sri lanka? There is a reason i did not provide a link to the 10,000 people buried alive because i knew u wudnt buy it. I mean, the SLA wants to cover it up and the tamil websites wants to make it known to the rest of the world.

Chris, its shameful that you dont have a brain to think about the reasons why SLA would ban all media. Could it be that...... no... it cant be. It cant be that they are trying to hide something.... can it?

Is it or is it not alright for the government to stash away 300,000 people away in concentration camps? And is it okay that they ban all outside media?

I know you have no answers for this so u just divert the topic and get away. Even intelligent people would not have a response... how could you?

Dont try to say these values dont matter. It is very foolish to believe that when you have not seen the other half of the world. If you took a trip to China, India... hell even russia, you would know these values matter.

Maybe but the real question remains, is that a future worth living in.  The truth is you can't stop terrorism entirely, if they start losing in too great a number they'll stop their activities, go into hiding, and when the heats off they'll rebuild and start again.  Even if you manage to wipe out every member of a terrorist group others of similar disposition will just take their place.  We're an exceptionally messed up species aren't we.

Probably that won't happen. Given the "ethnic struggle" in the United States, I don't think you can ever buy off a group whose leaders get power exploiting the "inequality"

Well Chris has already made it clear to us that he is not capable of thinking past what fox news tells him. So I just have one thing to add, no one ever won a war fighting by the rules of the enemy. Go ahead, say the LTTE were killing innocents. But you conveniently ignore the innocnets the government massacres on a weekly basis. And now... you justify the brutal torture of 300,000 innocents by claiming it is the only way to stop more innocents from dying.

I wonder if george washington followed the rules of the  british. And i happen to recall that in the late 1800s, digging trenches for your troops was considered dishonorable.
