Imperial Sun: Call to Arms

Prologue:

(Note, I wanted to make this an RPG, but I felt too few people would be familiar with Harry Turtledove

Re: Imperial Sun: Call to Arms (Alternative History Story)

Three things, two are edits.  My math was wrong, the United States would have 62 states, not sixty.  also, the Republic of Texas has 42 states, as Texas was split in four and Chihuahua in two in order to lesson the non-white majority in congress.  The third is a map I made of North America.  It's a bit crude but does the job, here's the photobucket link directly to the map (I'm not sure if links are still allowed or if mods still linki-fy them, but if you paste it directly in your browser it'll show up):

Ignore the win 100 dollars here, I should of colored over that.

Re: Imperial Sun: Call to Arms (Alternative History Story)

Its a very large post, havent found the time to read it yet but first few lines sound promising

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

CHAPTER ONE

George Walker Bush was looking through a box of possessions for the oval office.  It was a brisk Januray in DC.  John McCain was sitting in an adjacent chair while Bush held up an old Springfield rifle.

***First female President, unable to run for second term due to Constitution.

****The Republican Party gained there first majority in over a century in 2006, but still supported Kerry to gain popular support in the upcoming election.

Re: Imperial Sun: Call to Arms (Alternative History Story)

Here's chapter two, and a couple of edits: the President of the Republic of Quebec's official term is Premier, and the President of the Repuplic of Germany is offically the High Chancellor (or Chancellor.)

CHAPTER II

"They are calling to us, can you hear them?... It's beautiful," Lieutenant Nathan Hale.

Re: Imperial Sun: Call to Arms (Alternative History Story)

The next chapter is almost done, but I wanted to say this now:

This being an alternate history can be confusing because there are going to be major difference between our timeline and this story's, so if anyone has any questions about the present or past of this timeline, feel free to ask, and if it doesn't reveal any major future plots I'll do my best to answer.  I'll also make a map of Canadian States.

One comment is that there is a shitload of talking.

Re: Imperial Sun: Call to Arms (Alternative History Story)

Uh yeah that's just my writing style, I'm kinda dialogue heavy.

CHAPTER III

Re: Imperial Sun: Call to Arms (Alternative History Story)

I finally found a black and white map of Canada-it's harder to find then you think.  I just have to fine tune it, and look for a fine tip black sharpie, the green is too hard to see.

Re: Imperial Sun: Call to Arms (Alternative History Story)

Still gotta find that map of Canada.  Don't worry I know where it is.  Sorry for the wait, but I wanted to revise this chaptermore thoroughly then I normally do.

Re: Imperial Sun: Call to Arms (Alternative History Story)

Why?  It's called a chapter.  As in several pages placed together, seperated by numbers.  These chapters have breaks seperated by four spaces to provide even more convenient pause points.

Basically I'm treating this as a book, only instead of waiting until its finished, I post each chapter as it's completed.

Re: Imperial Sun: Call to Arms (Alternative History Story)

Patience my semi dedicated fanbase.  Sadly the college semester wears me down in terms of recreational and professional writing, enhanced by regular professional writing, and sometimes I have to place certain projects on hold.  My web comic is a good example, I'm having trouble making the episodes in time to edit and post them.  But fear not, I shall continue my works as best I can.

Re: Imperial Sun: Call to Arms (Alternative History Story)

I like where this is going, Hoitash.  I skipped a few sections as I'm more interested in how the events turn out rather than the individual actions of 20 or so characters.

Re: Imperial Sun: Call to Arms (Alternative History Story)

I sorta took Turtledove's method, trimmed it, and kept it as an homage to his creation.  Then I went back to college for the semester, which slowed my recreational and professional writing.

It helps convey the size of the matter and how things affect each other in a global society.
