No I haven't read the book. I don't even know where to buy it or lend it. But I have watched a lot of documentaries on the ancient egyptians

Couldn't it also be that a lot of things were lost in translation from egiptian to English?Muslims always say that if your interested in reading the Koran you should learn Arabic first and than readed as some things are lost in translation.

The egyptians were known to be great astronomers. The Giza pyramids were built so that the Pharoes buried in them could better reach the heavens(stars) in the afterlife. The pyramids were also lined perfectly with the Stars.

The Jews also came from Egypt to Palestine. I think It's entirely possible that they took some aspects of the Egyptian religeon with them.

yep they did... hell read spell 125 in the book of death.. sounds like a long versione of the 10 commandes.. you have a lot connectiones in the old testermant... though i lack to find many in the new....
or by mithra.. thats why we worship christ on sunday... hell sun-day... bevor 300 after christus people did worship christ on saturday... (which is also claimed wrong in the movie)
guess who decided that... and why... its easier to assimilate other religions if you take over a few of there beliefes... like celebrating on 25 december...

so i need to watch a movie made in 2000 to learn about a people who lived 3000 years ago even though those ppl had their own legends and history that they passed down generation to generation and were written down about 2500 years ago.

That particular portion of the movie was based completely on historical inaccuracy that they felt sure "you" would never research.  Based solely on the fact that they know people believe what they believe, see anything to potentially prove it, and latch on to it without ever checking it out.

Aside from the fact that the entire Horus story they present is inaccurate, that they can't spell resurrect, that they say Jesus was the most recent of the figures (though one they talked about was in 200 AD) - this video rocks.

Unfortunately, everything it spouts off as fact, isn't.

I don't mind a well put together theory, but really?  That was awful.  You can't "lose enough in translation" to change the birth, the characters, the death... wait.. the whole story

PS - I imagine that based on Renaissance paintings, they also believe that Jesus was a white male with long flowing hair

Couldn't it also be that the later roman emperors or popes changed facts and records to make sure christianity wasn't related to other pagan religeons!?!

(I really don't trust the government or any orginazations of authority. I guess thats because I live in a post-soviet country... besides they altered history, Why can't other bodies of power?!?)

I think a roman or byzantine emperor had access to those files. I think some earlier popes had that possibility also.

this is a forum which talks about the subject. Some of the users are for and some against the theory and some can find some relationship between the two.

But in all fairness I did start this argument, saying that all religeons are connected, using the jesus=horus theory as an example which grew. The vatican admits borrowing things from other ancient religeons.
