I don't see how an intermediate round could hurt. To me, the two options don't seem mutually exclusive, why can't they both be done?

Normal with 3 man fams, small galaxy and stupidly high starting resources, so we can have a quicker round.
It should allow more teamwork then smile STK and myself might fancy drafting in with someone who also has odd strats if this galaxy was to happen.

Practice what you preach.

Anyway, an intermediate round for 2-3 weeks as suggested by sKoE would be terrific, prior to Stefan returning and reseting SD to HC. The large family setup is unorthodox, but I figure that'll just mean a fresher atmosphere.

Yeah, something hugely different -- but at the same time it should encourage war. A 3 week round of infra whoring is not only boring, it's a waste of time.

OR maybe a 3 week round, small galaxy with large number of players per fam, and the first 2 weeks you can't attack.

Normal, you guys can't realize the potential of SD can you? Currently it's the biggest galaxy in the game, now if you just fix it up a little bring back tri alliances (i believe 2 allies should be allowed since theres abunch of fams) fix naps (dunno if you could nap or not this round) and just get it moving like a normal galaxy again IC would take leaps forward i gurantee it, seeing as you can play in SD and another galaxy it would easy become the most popular galaxy

And not making it Hardcore means the average players like myself actually has a chance to play, since the average player doesn't have 24 hours a day to play Imperial Conflict .... hardcore would ruin the galaxy and it'll turn into another stupid draco with a whole 40 players that ever play there because no one has to time to be glued to their pc 24 hours a day ....

So make it normal, and fix the forums so we can read allies forums, and if you do this SD will be around for some time to come.

ok, let me just interject. Forums can't be fixed right now. Ally forums won't exist. Allies will NOT be implemented next SD round. I repeat, allies will NOT be implemented. It will NOT be another PW, MW andromeda or Draco and the question is...

Do you want to make it normal and start it soon until it becoms hardcore. Or do you want to  not make it normal now and wait for it to be hardcore later? (at an unknown time)

Complain about the bugs  all you like but if the mod team could fix them then the mod team would've fixed them =p

most players here have way to many free time, but when you have a fulltime job, a wife and kidds, you can't play that much, draco is hardcore already, if people want hardcore, then pay for it

Start normal, tweak a few things as previously mentioned, HC later because obviously if it can't be fixed atm there's only so many options, so anyone wanting to wait for an unknown period of time is either ignorant or just plain [insert expletive here]... big_smile
