First some CNN stuff...

Of the 8 cases she ruled on that appeared before the Supreme Court, 6 overturned, 1 currently pending and one confirmed but was unanimously panned by the SCOTUS jurists for faulty reasoning. Below are most of those cases (7 via CNN):

Specific to the tax deduction case, all judges said her reasoning is faulty. All. This is not a judicial intellectual if her decisions have this kind of response. Also, the current firefighter case is under some questionable circumstances in that the decision was sealed upon being made. Rumour has it that the decision is so flawed that the panel did not want seen publicly. Since decisions like there normally are not accompanied by a sealed result, it was an odd event.
Additionally, she's simply and activist. As quoted before but expanded, she said this:
"Our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging. Justice [Sandra Day] O'Connor has often been cited as saying that a wise old man and wise old woman will reach the same conclusion in deciding cases. I am also not so sure that I agree with the statement," she added. "First, as Professor [Martha] Minnow has noted, there can never be a universal definition of wise. Second, I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life."
The Martha Minow mentioned said this:
Regarding judges overcoming limited viewpoints of their societal experiences that "...judges must admit the limitations of their own viewpoint, when judges reach beyond those limits by trying to see from contrasting perspectives, and when people seek to excercise power to nurture differences, not to assign and control them."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In short this judge has been found practicing racism, but for the benefit of her race versus others, if that means any difference... She has had all of her claims that reached the supreme court (minus pending one) thrown out... Meaning they found her entire judgment WRONG.
This Judge has made some astonishingly bad moves all in the name of political activism.
And people got upset when Bush nominated a friend (I did to, but this takes the cake).
Right now on the left leaning websites I am visiting this is being calked up as 'politically wise' for getting a woman and a Latino. Also they are congratulating him on changing the topic from national security to this judge, which is a very early nomination since he still has a few months before the retirement.
Right leaning sites I am visiting note how extremist this lady is, and how she really is a bad judge. Further they note that Obama's timing does change from a nuclear N. Korea in the papers to this justice. Finally there is talk of this backfiring in the extreme, eating some of the creditability of Obama even amongst his most devout followers. After all there is only ever 9 justices at this juncture, and those justices do not come every day. The left will be deeply interested in who is nominated, and the extra time on this nomination means that they will have extra time to research this justice and find how horrific this choice is.
Kemp currently not being responded to until he makes CONCISE posts.
Avogardo and Noir ignored by me for life so people know why I do not respond to them. (Informational)
