Elite Warrior I have logged, in high school... your first cut tells you if there is rot or not and the quality of the wood. use a weight on a string to determine the lean factor.. check the limbs for weight distribution, determine what sort of V you will make and how deep. be careful not to bind up. I don't know what's more offensive. Turning Memorial Day into a political issue, or an alleged veteran turning Memorial Day into a political issue. Seriously, on a day veterans are supposed to remember, they're also supposed to forget the occasional heated political debate held in the barracks after hours? Maybe it's because I was in the ARNG, but I personally recall coming across a shitton of "liberal" Soldiers. At the time, I'd even include myself in that category. Some of my friends with military backgrounds whom I've been meeting with all weekend (minus one who's still active and in the "sandbox" as we speak) are registered Democrats.

I suggest, in the most friendly of manners, to be shooting a back azimuth on your rhetoric around this time of the year, Einstein. You're beginning to sound like you're smoking rope.

It's a term I've borrowed from an Air Assault Soldier. The ropes they use to fastrope out of helicopters are made of hemp.

I had to do a calculation recently for the radiation dose to a sewage worker caused by the aqueous disposal of radioactive material from hospitals. The radiation dose is pretty minimal so don't worry about that. The thing which really disgusted me was that in the calculation I had to use official figures of how much sewage a sewage worker accidentally ingests and inhales.

p.s. Military veterans are no more deserving of special treatment than anyone else. They chose the job they chose and it is up to them to live with the consequences of their choice. Especially since most of them chose a military life because they like the idea of  killing i.e. because they are amongst the most repulsive excuses for human beings possibly imaginable.

So in conclusion

Honour our sewage workers, trawlermen and lumberjacks. Let our military veterans rot alone with their incomplete collection of limbs to reflect on what they have done.

interesting how people in this forum defend the "rights" of veterans for social care and benefits, but on the other side oppose against social care and benefits for other poor people (e. g. medical care)

veterans choosed to be soldiers (except if drafted). in peace time a nice job. in war times risky. if a soldier gets wounded/killed than it is the risk of his individual choice. if a roofer drops from the ladder and breaks his backbone, who cares for him? the us-gov? thats one of the risks in a roofers life. the risk in a soldiers life is the same.
