Maybe you guys don't know about the british journalist who was detained in sri lanka because he/she (i donno) captured footage of sri lankans abusing tamils in one of their refugee camps. They threw food in the dirt and watched the tamils run to go get it. They would starve them to a point where they could humiliate them like this. If this is not barbaric I do not know what is.

Also the tamil people do not want to go back to singhalese as second class citizens? I drive across the United States for a living now. Right now I have been driving down I-40 in Tennessee.

There are not so many older bridges/overpasses over it, but there are some. Metal pipes will not make anyone think twice if welded on a new bridge, or appearing to be welded on (accomplishable with magnets and a soldiering iron.) to an area they could expect such a pipe. Or just use existing pipes (which on some bridges exist for wiring to the other side, to signs on the bridge or even as drainage pipes... caution on the last) Inside a bomb with a timer set for 1 year 5 months. 5 targets in Tennessee of this nature on I-40. Or just gain access to the inside of hollow railing, and stuff it full of the stuff via remote. To truly destroy one you need to have about 20 sticks of dynamite per two lanes, on average (I served briefly in the combat engineers). However 10 sticks worth will render it unsafe to say the least. Another issue is pressure production versus quantity. 20 sticks in open air do less damage than 20 sticks buried.

Radio Antenna's... Frequently placed without a person immediately next to them, they do present some issues with covert access in some area's, but others they are extremely easy. Bury a bomb near it, make a wider pipe around an existing pipe, etc. Some C4 preferably, with shaped charges to remove a leg. Also need to snap at least 1 cable with another bomb. Again timers. Alternatively just rigging on the power supply could have an effect, but not as much structural damage and quicker to repair.

How hard is it to train a dog to carry a bone over and drop it if it expects a reward each time? Plastic large bone with c4 and timer inside, as well as lead weight. Train dog to drop in the sewer entrances next to sidewalks with command 'bring the bone here' and that 'you silly dog' is reward time. Surround certain tall buildings with such devices. Self sealed they cannot be detected by sniffers. Weighted they wont float away. On timers they will be programmed at different times to make the government 'need to' search for them. 1 bomb a day, different place a day for 6 months, total is 180-183 bombs, redo route with different placements. 365 bombs later you have got a pretty good scare against people.

Culverts, Bridges, Train tracks, sewers, drain pipes, are all easy targets. There are many of them, in many locations, if done properly with different size charges and different placement plans they must react solidly to all of them. So many small bridges of 10 feet in length to 15 feet in length cover interstates as to be believed.

I expect I could drop 100 overpasses on 15 interstates, destroy 100 small bridges on interstates, take out 50 sections of railroad, scare 180 big cities and towns and for shit and giggles I could also rig some explosives at some less attentive gas stations.

The over passes, bridges and somewhat the railroads is the true infrastructure damage. The rest is adding to general panic.

Crush one target, say the overpasses in one blow first. Then have the others go off over a period of 5 days following... and panic would reign. The entire nation would shut down. No traffic, no working, martial law, people inspecting everything and anything, jumping when a motorcycle backfires for years following.

A series of remote control toys with a retransmitter on all can help with some placement and reduce my personal chances of getting caught. Placing a 'broke down' vehicle (which I have towed later, courtesy of AAA) in a specific place with a camera could help me know traffic patterns. You do have to avoid high profile targets. For instance tunnels are frequently inspected, they make crappy targets even if you can get a few hours without anyone coming through them to place your stuff. Same with longer bridges, the traffic is usually heavier, the inspections happen regularly, and discrepancies stand out.

For extra credit, how hard would it be to set up some light poles to blow and fall down across highways?
