Pretty sure it was just a April Fool's joke.  Probably the best one Blizzard ever did as it convinced many people.  But I'm pretty sure they aren't doing it.

They're too busy raking up the money from WoW every month.

If you didn't think they have enough experts to tell them that creating a very similiar (with aesthetic differences) game to compete with their first mega success, then you fail elementary business education. You should let your spouse do the shopping--or not get married, 'cause that's a big burden on someone to take care of you. tongue
