CHRIS THEY WONT ABandon if US were winning.they know they will get OWned if they still contiune.

1.the dead total
2.the money wasted
3.nothing to gain except a ally in asian
4.people is demostrating in US
5.North Vietnam is supported by China(a near ally is better than far ally.time save and cost)
6.US soldier sux in asian weather,they got many kind of sickness.

ya the VC war is a losing war for US.Nth to gain but the lose is too much.Why do you run when you are winning big_smile.they re embrass to admit lose.Is just like IC.when your ally is pawned,you help him but when he start losing battle and the enemy start aiming you.you unally your ally(some noob do it but i don want to name who).In the end,you say u never lose coz i was just helping my ex ally but they sux too much that i need to abandon them.

Political pressure. Same as what happened with Iraq. I can surmise that we were neither winning nor losing, what didn't help was going cold turkey on ARVN.

Public opinion turned after the Tet Offensive, even though the result was disastrous for the VC and NVA.

Essentially we were doing very well tactically, but the North was far better with their PR than either the South or the US.
