avo... can you say inflation?  Inflation is very very bad for an economy in general.  EVERYONE needs food, with a bit of effort most could surivive with less energy.  So converting limited food to provide bearly positive energy will cause food inflation on EVERYONE and that's the problem.  The US COULD grow sugar cane.  If it did that would even prevent food inflation prices, introduce a new cash crop for farmers that would initially not replace other food sources.  And LP yeah... that's why corn was such a bad idea.  Even under ideal circumstances just the conversion is about 2:1.  So to distribute it, grow it, etc... kinda falls to 1:1 and then below very quickly.  Sugar case I believe starts alot closer to 8:1 so even with inefficiencies you almost certainly end up with a positive energy gain AND there is a sugar glut so a small 10-20% inflation on sugar is no big deal but corn and it's pruducts were already being consumed darn close to how much was being produced as food.  Which is why corn is costing about twice what it was a year ago.  And since wheat farmers are switching to corn for more money wheat is also inflating.  Oh and by the way, meat products tend to use corn, wheat etc and feed so guess what else is going up.  And that's the problem with using corn, it was relatavely scarce and yet widely used so any disturbance will cause inbalances which is part of what we will all go through.

BIO fuels are dream

earth can not grow enuff plants or whatever to support the whole car fuels, it will be better for earth to have more CO2 in atmosphere then use all the lands producing BIOfuel

well you might say in smaller scailes it might be good....

problem is, if you recycle everything on earth, then it dosent help nature yet, because we destroy up to 6000 t soil every year so well still destroy the nature in long run...

we need to do that socalled "waste is food" thing, that if you use something you throw it back to nature after using so nature could benefit from the waste

also this trimming, really you should use the trimmed branches for nature reproduction not some shity metal object....

and fertilizers also aren't good, you waste much more energy for creating fertilizers then they help the plant grow...
