Topic: Media Elite

While watching CNN, i noticed several problems that i beleive will never change as long as we allow freedom to report stories based on executive decisions rather than reporting based on what the world needs to know.

First off, the "idealology" is pronounced: ide

Re: Media Elite

The media tells people what they want to hear and adopt positions they feel their viewer base will identify with whether they're right or wrong. Media companies are commercial enterprises after all.

i always thought and felt CNN was siding with Clinto yikes

Re: Media Elite

Ehawk, I have nothing to say on the topic yet... I'll save my ranting for after BW does his prissy school-boy bit. Just came to comment on your sig. Reminds me of the old Canadian Tire (or was it visa/ mastercard?) commercials. Made me smile smile

Re: Media Elite

@CT, yeah, lol i change the punch line every once in a while.

On the topic, btw, i think the media like to give ppl info they like to hear so thier ratings go up.  cuz we all know that if ANY television program has good ratings, their sponsors pay more for commercial airtime.

Re: Media Elite

CNN is a big international news corporation.

My countries local news programs are very trustworthy. the news prog. in a government funded channel is the most trustworthy and unbiased news I have seen and I get alot of news yle 1 from finland, the newschannels from st.petersburg and moscow, RTL in germany, bbc news, CNN, CNBC, Al jahzeera etc...

Re: Media Elite

Yep the government funded channels doesnt need sponsors so they can tell the real news ofc. Not like a channel owned by a party that will rarely show the bad things this party (if in government) does (Fox News).

Re: Media Elite

@TDA

What is wrong with a news channel that rarely shows bad things when other channels rarely show good things?

Re: Media Elite

damn liberals and thier 24hour new coverage!

speaking of "24 hour" new channels, fox, cnn, msnbc...etc, they all say they are 24 hour new channels but realy they loop a one hour news broadcast over and over again until they have something breaking!

true story: i was watching CNN at the VA hospital.  i was a couple hours early cuz i had to take the metro and the next bus would have made me late for my appiontment so i had to be early.  while watching i made a simple observation of that black guys tie, i thought it was tacky and neat.  well they had a breaking news sequence!!! OJ is back in jail for violating his bail conditions ezcept this time, not only was that black dude not wearing the tie i liked 5 minutes prior, but he was wearing all diferent clothing aswell.  This proves all they do is loop constant feed to give the viewer the feeling he/she is watching current news when all your doing is waiting for the next update or break in! and all the media is doing is waiting for the next suicide bomber or another celebrity to overdose!!!!

Re: Media Elite

I don't know if anyone madea thread about this, but while we're talking about news channels, did anyone hear the US government has sued Fox News/TV?
