Topic: Scientific Question for Lizon

If an electric engine is used per tire, and provides 30kw of power, how much horsepower are we talking per engine?

I really would appreciate knowing, this question could keep me up all night... posting endlessly.... Primo would love you to help me get to sleep tongue

Re: Scientific Question for Lizon

Ok a calculator says it is 40hp. Now here is a simpler question.

4 engines at 40hp, is it safe to assume this means 160hp? Or is this just 40hp? Or something between????

Re: Scientific Question for Lizon

The engine output is Horsepower. Ea

The amount of work they can do depends on the gearing

Its conceivable that 4 such engines would be less efficient than 2.

This is why engineers get the big bucks

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.

Of course they only get the fucks when they are 30 and making money, as until then they are exercise deprived geeks with no style, overladen with expensive books in place of their alcohol money.

I'll stick with being a history major.

nahhhhup! I'm an engineer, and along with commerce students we were the leaders in drinking at our uni. It's different in the US. No idea why. Example of engineering parties that come to mind at the moment...

Water fight vs Commerce - throwing each other in fountains whilst drinking
Paintball vs commerce - drinking afterwards
Kegs in the Park - 14 Kegs in the Auckland Doman. The police always come along to this one for some reason. Not that we are bothering anyone, I guess we just look scarey.
Stien 1 - $1 beers... as a fundraiser, the beer is supplied free from a local brewery.
Stien 2
Stien 3
Stien 4
Engineering rugby 7s - awesome
Silly games
Engineering pub crawl
Then of course we dominated the Uni pub crawl
Challenge Shield - too long to explain
Round the Bays - A 5-6 mile rune with "nearly 40,000 registered runners and an estimated 70,000 participants" ... we engineers rig up a cart and tow along a keg or two to keep ourselves hydrated.

That's all I can think of for now.

Oh and I got paid good as soon as I graduated. I'm not sure how you can compare the pay rates of a history student compared to an engineer, but that's cool, no worries, you can assume whatever you like. History is interesting and all, but what are you going to be, a history professor?

Gondor: wtf, im not even mentioned. I was the glue to this family. Thats BS!
Econ: Gondor, if you were the glue, then I was the glue sticky thing that applies the glue.
(edit: I believe that's called the brush).
Torqez: Econ you forgot the part where you say "and I made Torqez delete!"

I wasn't assuming anything or dumping on your pay rates. I don't care about the money. I just want a degree to be independent of this retard country. I already have the means to live well. Plus, professors at colleges make a nice sum of money, it's a  low stress job as well (A+++). Of course the way you describe it over there (England/Scotland??) makes me think its not such a bad thing, but across the pond it really is a stale social environment. For a while I wanted to do engineering, but then I said to myself "I'll kill myself if I have to work with these people". That and I'm trying to avoid the corporate environment at all costs.

New Zealand, although working in Canada at the moment. I work for a good company. It's owned by the employees - no one person is allowed to own more than 1%.  And we do a variety of interesting work, which includes some pollution clean ups, as well as help out on new developments.

But it wouldn't compare to being a professor and having those nice female students coming to my office for some tuition.

Interesting. Being professor would be nice, the best ones I find are the characters. The women, although nice most of the time, put me to sleep. I need a jackass to keep me awake.

Re: Scientific Question for Lizon

Just because he's studying history doesn't mean he'll necessarily become employed in a sector where he will need it. Some jobs will start you off with a higher paygrade just for having an education. I studied molecular biology and biochemistry, yet here I am almost 10 years later and my entire professional life has been devoted to the commercial aviation industry.

They pay more. wink

Econ: WTF why are you seeing commerce as your equals and rivals... We engineers are better than them, grow some class man, go fight the law students... they are worthy of our time as they require to have somewhat the ame intelect as us...

Engineers are an advanced human society? Pfft, give me a break! Do a real subject!

You were right though, you are probably on a par with law students tongue

Ancient history is the best subject, degrees in it should be compulsory.
