As I said the true tech is 10 years out for basic deployment, at prices the US military will finally accept. Thats for batteries which will go about 500 miles on one charge and wont sustain damage in bad terrain.

100 mile batteries are possible in say 4 years, I am watching for that tech jump... should see the first major investment before the end of the year.

having the car companies in the market should speed things up a bit.

Re: Obama's daunted Green Car revolution is crapola...

no not really. It's not a matter of money at this stage, it's a matter of infrastructure, trade rights (Like the statement in my article I posted where it shows if we all had lithium batteries in our cars it would use 1/3 of the worlds lithium on the first generation alone), the next few stages in working to getting to a manufacturing process to bring the prices down to 25% of what they say they currently can make them at, and getting a few patent fights worked out in court.

In all honesty there is no chance of a truly effective system just yet, and putting concrete down does not equate to full scale distribution of the product asap. Q&A testing on the first set of manufacturing instruments alone will probably be 6 months, and the likes.

I think flint was replying to me. I knew that he haddn't written that, obvious. He copies and pastes items and says "look what these people said, the democrats are bad". I wish he had a go at saying "look what the republicans did, this was bad". Funny how I've never seen him say that.

Occasionally I like to remind people that I don't really love Obama/democrats - it's just that they are so much closer to the centre than the republicans. I think I'll make a thread on this.

Gondor: wtf, im not even mentioned. I was the glue to this family. Thats BS!
Econ: Gondor, if you were the glue, then I was the glue sticky thing that applies the glue.
(edit: I believe that's called the brush).
Torqez: Econ you forgot the part where you say "and I made Torqez delete!"

When it comes to the Democrats, they only anger me when it comes to multiculturalism, social programs and the economy. Then you have the Republicans who are religious nuts, but at least they promote low taxes, fiscal responsibility, and the free market. Personally, if the Dems would relax some of their "positive freedom" crap I would take them more seriously.

As for Flint, I honestly think he's a narcissist and needs to seek psychiatric help.

They don't have that "Like" button like the one they recently added to facebook, but if they did. I would click it for that post Justinian.

Lose-lose I'd say.

Dems: "Let's 'include' people in the system by stomping on people's rights to free speech. Also we'll make sure your small-business never takes off. BWAHAHAAHA"
Republicans: "Let's impose our stupid morals on your because we are a nation busybodies."

What's wrong with narcissism?

About the cars - it will never take off just simply by appealing to the more noble sentiments of Americans to "save the environment". Low price, handling, reliability, acceleration, speed. Guess what traits this electric car by GM will have? None.

yep, its gonna be a shit car and its gonna buy like shit, and then the politicians will blame the citizens for not buying a crap, overpriced piece of shit, and then 10 or 15 years down the line, when the technology is actually ready, we'll have no problem buying electric cars. also, i think the main reason why the volt cant be priced competitively is not only does it have an electric motor and batteries, it also has a gas tank and a generator, so that if the batteries are low, you can burn gas to get a longer range. now, Ford is focusing on electric cars without the gas generator, but their ranges are probably gonna be too short, that they probably wont be feasible.
