90% of the people I see here have been playing for 5+ years. Back then, people were in high school or Uni and needed stuff to kill time between classes or while studying etc. Also, there were SOOOOOO many players.

When I started playing IC, it was really fun (large galaxies, almost everything being tried were new strats etc, there was actually a big thrill from winning a round etc). Overtime, the game itself has kinda gone stale (kinda like CS... only the hardcore players still play. Others have moved on...). Now, only the people who loved the community still return here. Newer players find the game too short on people, and the fact that there are very few people in each galaxy and most of the people who are there are quite good (due to 5+ years of playing) alienates new players. So IC is basically just a community site with a game attached ATM. And as long as the older players of the community remain, the site likely wont die. It will just keep dwindling.
