Topic: Advice Strat: Fam Bank - Committment
In my last round (well half) of IC i noticed that the level of commitment has declined. This effects how the family operates, especially if they are trying to carry out the fam bank method. This wont work...
So instead i'll advise you on an alteration which is almost as effective if not more, and is stress free. The fam bank idea is based on 2/3 main players directing resources and ideas.
Step back from the fam bank being a person and change your thoughts to the fam bank as a theory/method.
Remove the physical presence of the fam bank, no more fam bank. No name on HQ.
Instead introduce communication. Players will know that your playing fam bank, but with no evidence of a fam bank present it's dependant that they communicate to grow. Encourage everyone to talk to each other, and not just to the main characters. This needs a positive determined leader to get people talking, be a bit cruel and force teamwork.
Last round i made a post of how i wanted things to work, at first the players tried to force me to do things for them, i refused their demands as if they wernt even good enough to talk to me and soon they filtered of and started working with each other, then all i had to do was direct them in the big decisions, direct jumps the easy stuff. i wasnt being bothered all the time.
It meant i can go away and stuff was still happening.
As for the resources, a player would come online, if they needed to build, talk to others, if not they would hold onto what they had until someone came on, or pass it to someone who needed, or if going offline, send it to someone who could use it more.
This system made the family much more secure, they were comparing stats with each other, instead of showing me, and me being like "why do i give a toss" i went into war for the first time not overly concerned about my players, they were solid.
This can work for you instead of working in teams. Just give it a chance, good luck.
