Topic: Rome and food!

I'm going to Rome this weekend! I have my sightseeing all planned out.

There is just one thing that I'm worried about. I love Italian food and I'm looking for the not so touristy places to have a meal, I'm looking for the real deal, not some tourist trap that serves crappy food for high prices! wink

Can any Romans(or ex-tourists??) help me out and point me to some nice places to eat? tongue

Re: Rome and food!

Don't go to rome to eat, take a bus to some back water place and eat there.

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Re: Rome and food!

McDonald's!  I hear they have this awesome thing called a "Big Mac!"  And if you're really adventurous, you can ask them to do something called "super sizing it!"  Basically, it gives you more of their delicacies for a small additional charge.

The Great Eye is watching you... when there's nothing good on TV...

Re: Rome and food!

Yeah, I have heard it isn't all that flash.

Your = possessive. As in, "your grammar sucks."
You're = you are. As in, "you're an idiot for not knowing the difference."

Cook up a can of chef boyardee with a cigarette lighter and eat it with a wooden popsicle stick on the steps of the Pantheon. Al fresco!  Buon mangiare!

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

Re: Rome and food!

I agree that Rome is pretty much more for sightseeing. And shopping.
If you want a decent italian meal from a guy who doesn't understand a word of english, you should go to some small town in the hills.

But that's pretty much for all countries...

This forum is stupid.
