Topic: Texas debates succession
Down south the common talk is will the Governor and other elected officials succeed from the United States. This talk is very prevalent. Recently pushed hard on the front screen, there is also notice of others talking ugly also
30 States have passed, or are currently passing, declarations of sovereignty. This basically is an affirmation of their rights under the Constitution to Succeed from the Union.
Yes 30 States.
Texas of course has unique history, as a separate nation which joined the Union, they have a treaty allowing withdrawal, and would set the stage for the splintering of the United States.
Some States are carrying this even further, with passing of laws designed to get Federal Officials to tell the State to desist. The States then will sue the Federal Government for interfering in the States rights.
Additionally there is talk of a Constitutional Convention. Such a convention would dramatically re-write the Constitution and re-affirm several parts. And this effort actually is currently a strong one which would result in new conservative laws at the constitutional level due to the current make up and disposition of the nation.
This is considered to be an alarming level however, and is still only whispered as Texas seceding was whispered a few months ago.
Kemp currently not being responded to until he makes CONCISE posts.
Avogardo and Noir ignored by me for life so people know why I do not respond to them. (Informational)
