Sol, you are implying that much of this is common sense but you don't know how many times even in the past month that some of those things have happened.

Tip 14:  If you have a considerable sized fleet to contend with an enemy that is attacking you, don't just sit there doing retakes, take some portals.

wow, did you figure this one out all by yourself?


Just to name a few that did this,  Icynightmares, War(before he fought back against WS), Blackdog won't fail, Artic, and I know there were more that I just can't think of atm.  There were many times where they could have taken portals in our conflicts yet they decided to only do retakes with their fleet.

Tip 16:  If you go to war, don't just jump 1.2 million soldiers as your families main attacker and sit there watching them get run, jump a fleet that is useable and take some damn portals!

I just thought you could go inactive when you have 1,2 mill soldiers or more...


Ask 45 how well this strategy went for them, Sol =p

Another thing I might add is :

ALWAYS check the relations page and leader message BEFORE triggering fleets. Don't forget to confirm the target you're triggering too because someone may be triggering on the same planet around the same time you are.

There should be a tip on research for attackers. Which is better? construction or attack/defence? Construction makes it easier to build more units but more units means more networth which in turn lowers science point effectiveness.

This is my first round attacking and I wasn't sure about the droid/soldier ratio. Because of the soldier bug I built mostly droids but now I am told I would withstand attacks better with soldiers?

yes, soldiers have a defence rating of 7, where as droids have 4
meaning you'd need almost twice as many droids to fight off the attackers.

I don't think there's an idiot or non idiot way to balance out construction and attack research. One can have 80% attack strength researched but only be able to build 1000 fighters every five ticks. Resulting in an overall fleet of 1800 fighters (excluding no fear and race bonuses). If it is 80% construction then we could assume one could build 1800 fighters every couple ticks. I guess it all comes down to how big and powerful the family is and whether the attacker has to produce 100% of his own Iron and endurium or not.
