Is about to embark in an epic journey. A journey to save the world. He is about to search for the legendary scythe, Death's Embrace.
Although an evil weapon by nature, it is possible to wield it in the name of good... but only if your heart is pure enough. Anyone with a heart filled with even the slightest bit of hatred, corruption, spite, or rage will be consumed by the evil within Death's Embrace. This scythe once belonged to the legendary Dark Knight, Dameshi. You haven't heard his tale? Well allow me to enlighten you then.
Dameshi was a soldier in the Benellian empire during the Lion War. After seeing many battles, he continually rose up in rank, eventually becoming the king's personal guard captain. Unfortunately for him, Benellia lost the Lion War, and their sovereignty. All soldiers in the kingdom were enslaved, for fear of an uprising. However, Dameshi was far more powerful than any common soldier, and he eventually led a successful uprising in the prison he was held. He had escaped, but had no home to go to, no king to serve. He had nothing, nothing but rage. He would make all of Tirion pay (Tirion being the kingdom that won the war). He found the best blacksmith in all the land, and forced him to craft him a scythe of the highest quality. Crafted from Mythril and reinforced with Damascus, this was a scythe hard enough to cut through diamond with little effort. He also had the smith fashion him armor of the same materials. He was now ready for combat.
Being the king's personal guard captain is no small feat. Only the best of the best could even consider this position. Dameshi was nearly god-like on the field of battle, none stood in his path. He went on a rampage, destroying entire villages by himself! Nobody in Tirion could stand in his way. Entire militias destroyed, nobody was spared, not the women, not the children, nobody. This infuriated the king, who dispatched the entire force of his army to find and kill this monstrosity. It didn't take long before Dameshi was confronted with thousands of soldiers and mages. He may be good, but he's not that good.
He put up a good fight, but the numbers overwhelmed him. As his blood began to spill on the soil, he called out to gods, offering himself to their services if they spare him and kill his enemies this day. This request fell on deaf ears. The gods had abandoned him.... or so it seemed.
As he fell into the underworld, he heard a voice. "Your time has not come, you shall roam the earth once more. All I require is your allegiance." It was the voice of salvation. It was the voice of Krom, ruler of the underworld. In a flash of light, Dameshi was returned to the battlefield. However, he was not the same. He was far more powerful than before. He felt no pain, no hunger, no fatigue. He was undead.
Legend has it that the Kirion kingdom fell before Dameshi. A single man was able to topple an entire kingdom. However, upon killing the king and ruining the kingdom, his rage finally subsided, and he saw what destruction he had caused. Death and devastation, everywhere he looked. His sanity was lost. Cursing the gods for allowing such a disaster to occur, he waged war the gods themselves. Well, you all know what happens to those who attempt to defeat the gods. Dameshi's soul was ripped from his body, and sent to the underworld to suffer for an eternity.
A curse was placed on his weapon, and it was hidden away. Any man who wields it finds great power, but also makes great sacrifices. His soul becomes corrupted, his sanity fades away, and all he loves and cherishes shall be consumed in darkness.... This is the scythe known as the Death's Embrace.
