Windows 7 is awesome and it is STILL the hardware developers job to supply drivers for their products.
I personally never had problems with vista... BUT.. skow is so right.. win 7 ftw win.. its amazing.

No its the OS programmer's job to made the new OS broadly compatible. OS is like a railroad. Why make 50% of current trains obsolete overnight because you made rails of a different gauge? And then say "soory its your job to make wheels the right size"

well if u develop an OS u need to advance and make it better then the OS before. therefore it sometimes becomes inevitable to change the driver structure or whatever.

In my old company i had that issue.. i contacted Novell to ask them about if they are going to supply a Novell login Client which is compatible with Vista.. they told me they are not going to delevop one because Vista in their eyes is a deadborn child.

Well infact.. Vista IS a deadborn child.. but still it is Novell

Windows 7 was started before Vista, Vista is the premature, grasping for breath while on life support, step child. Windows 7 is looking to be the 'Ahnold strong, Einstein smart, and Brad Pitt looks' of a OS.

Windows 7 clearly is based on Windows Vista.
Can u give any proove that it was started before Vista?

To me it appears that 7 is what Vista was ment to be but Vista was just not finished

Also you will need to do the following:

1) Search for topics with Windows 7 in it. This is similar to a Google Search, do not be afraid however, this site limits to just it's site!!! You cannot be overwhelmed with to much knowledge.

2) You will need to read the comments, yes there are a lot, but if you passed 6th grade you should be able to mostly keep up! Good luck!

3) Admit you were wrong to challenge me on something trivial. Yes be a real man, show when you are wrong!

Windows 7 (Blackcomb) was started AFTER Vista (Longhorn), but both have had overlapping development schedules.


Both (particularly Vista) have had *alot* dropped from their requirements.

ok.. i read the comments...

at a page like technet i still wonder why i should read the comments and not the articles.. comments can allways be made by people liek you flint.
but.. i spent the last 10 or 20 minutes in reading comments about Win 7..
i read things that are better then in Vista.. I read a lot about starting trouble like with every OS.. but not in one word i read that 7 was developed before vista. Did u use both?

A person who used both OS clearly can see that Vista is something on the way to 7.

If i find out you are rigth i will not have a problem admitting i am wrong flint.
I just can not find any proove for your claim.

So, you are right... the development of 7 started early.
But not before Vista.. since vista was never really planned and only ment to be some interim based on the win 7 development.
So ok.. you may have been right.

Vista is like my ex-wife:

  Nice to look at, but it has so many issues you can't do a damn thing with it except watch in amazement as it demands half of everything you have to do absolutely nothing.

And then when it leaves your life it takes the other half of everything you have with it, because somehow it is your fault it is sow screwed up.


Windows 7 is like my current girlfriend:

  Interested in more important things than looks and is so stable you might want it to stay around forever.

there is just a lack of competition. I'm not angry at bill for being rich, he's an economic genius, I would have done the same if I could. But I am angry he cut back progress since almost the start of the commercial pc. There is no real alternative. Linux and mac DO have major drawbacks as well.
