the most successful SS approach i have been tought is to build 50% Farms 50% Mines. obviously play the market for your income. ive seen bara hit 6milNW and 400 planets and believe me when i say he had CRAZY income and also believe me when i say he would not give a penny to a starving orphan lol --> this is what a true SS player is

It was not TYMO that started the thread.  I think you're getting a lil confused.

SS'ers waste a spot within the family. And as most SS'ers dont do it right, they either a) use crappy races looking to produce both cash and res, then waste points on TO's and countless other things which leave them crippled the entire round b) aren't half active enough to SS well.  c) dont know how to play the market d) As mentioned above, go rogue and do not comply with family plans

On the whole they cause nothing but hassle. If they were not SS'ing the family could have had another player who would have added their income to the families overal economy.
Perhaps it'd be worthwhile to have something added to the Join galaxy page so that those wishing to SS can be flagged and placed in a family of SS'ers so that they're not hindering those who would rather not have a dark horse amongst em

Best SS player I've ever seen was Darkant. Basically ran a family of its own being top 10 in nw...

lol SS is not hard at all. You can play things out for yourself perfectly without having to wait on others. But in the end a good active fam using fambank is just better. As soon as everyone gets portalled you have to keep your fleet up with attackers and that is hardly doable. So you end up relying on the fam's attackers and you have to pay them bye bye SS

that depends on how active the market is Elro...and how much spare time the ss player has to spend making that extra buck. Ive seen and had insane market profits that pretty much paid for my fleets, they werent big enough to fight a 8mill camaar pumped by a whole fam...but the fleets did hold their own vs avrg attackers. To each his own, but specialization is the logical way IF the WHOLE fam is active and do their proper jobs, otherwise ss wins the cake.
